These are fun to use, and can be used to make all sorts of items. I cut the dough a bit bigger than the press and that seems to work best. I fill homemade pockets with anything I can think of like left over dinners, fruit pie fillings, left over beef stew with thickened gravy, turkey with cranberry and stuffing. Pizza ingredients. These are fun and can be frozen after they cooled off so my husband can take them with him hunting and camping. Quick and easy meal for him.

I used canned biscuits, rolled out. Worked perfectly. I baked them, using pre-cooked scrambled eggs, sausage cheese for breakfast pockets. Want to try with corn meal dough next to make meat and cheese empanadas, then want to try pie dough and filling for dessert turnovers. What a neat gadget!

It could be a bit cheaper so people can afford it better because it's a good one for every home

Haven't used it yet, but there's a piece of metal missing. It may still work, but I'm afraid rusting will occur. I'll report back...Update: the back side doesn't line up as another reviewer stated so you have to really rock back and forth to get a decent cut. It's a lot lighter than it looks and therefore feels cheaper. It doesn't seem to be all stainless steel like described, only plated in some kind of stainless appearance and you can see by the chip in front. I'll be returning. No room for cheap kitchen gadgets for me.

diameter is for the inner circle, should be the outer circle. I use the goya discos para empanadas. Those are 5.5 inches in diameter. they sit INSIDE this press. It does not reach the edge to seal it. And when you stretch the dough to seal it, the press is not tight so it opens up easily.

This little Empanada maker does what it advertises - BUT you have to know a few things too, or you will walk away frustrated. For instance, before you fold your dough over, make sure you LIGHTLY moisten the edges as this helps the dough to stick together. Fun to use, make up your own filling ideas, create and enjoy! However, beware that this product is somewhat flimsy. It's made of very thin metal, and the hinge points appear to be the place that will fail. Use with care and it will probably give you good service.
