This is not Amazon's fault; rather this is 100% a Kohler issue. These are cheap plastic that will break during installation and removal.If you watch Kohler's installation videos, the stops insert easily, and they do in reality. However, when you turn them to the on position (allowing water to flow) or to the off position, it all falls apart because the plastic slot for the flat head/slotted screwdriver breaks easily. Even Kohler customer service states that you need to use the "widest possible" screwdriver without specifically telling you the size.I took these replacement stops to the hardware store so that I could exactly match the slot size. Even though I already have a 3/8", I bought the new one because the one I had didn't seem to fit, likely because these slots seem to want a very slight tape on the screwdriver head, and those are tough to find.With the new screwdriver, I was able to get one stop turned, but it broke in the process. The second one broke before I could get it turned, and it broke so badly that I am now trying to figure out how to turn this without the turning slot because it's completely gone. Usually, some needlenose pliers would be fine, what's left to grab and turn is too fragile..These are so poorly made that I want to replace the whole unit, but it's a costly switch.I noticed Kohler recently removed the reviews for this product (April 2024) from their website and I suspect it's because the reviews were terrible.I expect more from Kohler.Please note: The concept of these is to allow you to remove the trim kit and stop the water from flowing at the faucet rather than turning off the water to the whole building or having to build an access panel with a shut-off valve. I wouldn't recommend these for that purpose because you will be replacing them too often because they seem like they would break every time.I will add photos later on if I can edit this review.
