This laser measuring device is a step up from my old one in so many ways. The obvious improvement is that it's got two lasers so I don't need to be standing next to a wall to do a measurement. It does support doing it that way, but sometimes it's not easy to get to the wall where you need to and this makes measurements quick and easy. There are some additional functions for more complex measurements like addition and subtraction and measuring by right angles, but I don't use those so I didn't test them out.It addition to reference dots so you can make sure you're going across in the right place, it shows you the angle of the device so you can make sure you're flat. In some circumstances, you could also use this as a level as well. It's also significantly smaller and lighter than the device I had before. I like the wrist strap.I checked the accuracy on a hallway that was easy for me to double check, and it was correct. The display is easy to read and well illuminated.

I build furniture as a hobby, and I also do a lot of other indoor and outdoor DIY projects around my home and property. I’ve been wanting to try out a laser distance meter for a while now, but having never used one, I’ll admit there was a bit of a learning curve for me. This was especially true for the features that I am not likely to use very often, but once I got the hang of the button functions, and how to switch between modes, the meter was fairly simple to use. I also took the time to double-check the laser measurements with a traditional carpenter’s ruler, and I found the laser to be surprisingly accurate.I did receive a couple of error messages while attempting to measure the distance between two walls at 30’, and I’m still not exactly sure what that was about, but for the most part, the operation was simple, straightforward, and most importantly, reliable.I also really like the fact that unlike the LD50 model, this model is rechargeable, so no worries about purchasing/replacing batteries. With that being said, one feature of the LD50 model that I would’ve loved to see on the LD120S is the dual levels, as I frequently use levels during woodworking, and having quick and convenient access to a level in a compact device like this would’ve been ideal.Overall, I am very please with this meter, and it will definitely be a nice addition to my DIY tool “arsenal”.

The instructions are easy to understand and follow. The unit is very easy to use and is pretty intuitive.Considering the few buttons on it, it has quite a few useful features. It's dual laser so it can measure a distance with it in the middle and it shows the distance from each end to the middle. When used in single mode it can measure from the top or the bottom. I compared the accuracy to my trusty Stanley tape measure and found it matched within spec, +- 1-2 mm.I wasn't planning on using this to measure angles, and soon as I saw the angle measurement I thought that can't be right... So, I compared it to my trusty Stanley 2 ft level. It is at least .5 degrees off in various directions. I could not find a happy place for it to show level. If you are not going to use it as a level I can recommend it. It is accurate and fast for length measurements. The additional modes/functions are also very useful.

I got this laser measure for the sole purpose of comparing it's performance against my trusted Dewalt DWHT77100 laser measure due to the price difference (this unit is well under half the price of my Dewalt). The results of this comparison, rather surprised me. The short of it is this, this laser measure is as good as my Dewalt in every manner that I need it to be.It is equally as accurate, as easy to read, use and seemingly as durable as the Dewalt. Again, at less than half the price. To be fair, although my Dewalt has never let me down, I do not depend on it for cutting measurements, I only rely on a physical measuring tape for that but these laser tapes are awesome for quick measurements over short and long distances, square footage and volume. It is excellent for giving you a "rough" idea of footage for materials or layouts. What surprised me immediately, was the accuracy of this tool. The product manual says that it is accurate is +/- 2mm, my use of the tool suggests that to be quite accurate. Total laser distance is 165ft in both directions. The tool is compact, weighs only 160 grams and is rated IP54Most amazingly, this tool is quite feature packed. It comes with a memory function, it can measure from either the bottom axis or the top axis of the tool. It can also easily calculate square footage and volume of a space. It features a number of different units of measure such as; mm, ft/fraction, inch/fraction, decimals and more. The unit is also capable of continuous measuring with low, high and average measurements readings displayed. This particular unit requires 2 x AAA batteries (I have been using rechargeable Lithium-ions, without issue. The only real draw back for this kindtool is the amount of sun that you might be trying to work in. These red lasers don't do very well in bright sunlight, in fact, they are nearly impossible to see in that condition. That being the only major draw back, I believe that these are an invaluable tool that you won't appreciate until you use it.This particular tool is a great value due to it's price, performance, features and construction. It is a better buy than my Dewalt.Definitely recommended.

This dual laser measurement unit is relatively small, lightweight, and easy to use. It appears to be accurate, although I did not go through any lab-grade tests with it. It comes with a USB cable, wrist strap, and pouch. It has multiple measurement modes, although the one I really find handy is the dual mode where you can just stand in the middle of a space, rotate the unit on the X, Y, and Z axes, and get the height, width, and depth. The display will automatically re-orient as you rotate the unit. It also includes an angle display so that you know if you're holding this perfectly horizontal or vertical (one axis only, obviously). Unlike some units, this one can display feet AND inches, as in 7' 2" instead of a decimal fraction of a foot (as in 7.167'). Of course, that's a moot point if you live pretty much anywhere other than the USA and use metric instead of our crazy obsolete measurement system. The user manual has some quirks, but is not bad and covers six languages including English, German, French, and Spanish. Overall, a handy unit that takes up little space on the shelf or work bench.

This is a lot smaller than I thought it would be looking at the photos. It's just about the size of a Nokia cellphone from the early 2000s. It is accurate in its measurements from what I can tell so far, although I wouldn't use it to cut something to length -- more for a rough measurement. It measures from both ends or from one end or the other to a midpoint on the device. And it has a built-in level. I like the fact it's a unique shade of light blue-green, as it makes it easy to find in a toolbox or bag.
