The CO detector is powered by a 10-year lithium battery that never needs replacing, plus protects during a power failure. The Kidde alarm is conveniently designed and portable enough for travel - simply install it on a wall or place it on a tabletop. When carbon monoxide is detected, an 85-decibel alarm will sound & a red LED will flash. A green LED indicates that the alarm is receiving power. And an amber LED indicates when it's time to replace the detector. The test-hush button allows you to test the battery operations as well as temporarily silence the low battery chirp warning. Plus, peak level memory records the last time carbon monoxide was detected or when the unit was last tested. The mounting holes match the older model that uses 3xAA batteries, so you can screw the plate right in the same spot.

Only been about a year, and I hope it actually detects CO. The alarm, display and manual test all function fine.

This device has worked well for about two months now. It is in my 84 year old mother's home and she is able to test and use the device without any issues. It is nice to be able to see the detected ppm level.I hope she can outlive the expected 10 year battery life. We will see.2 Thumbs Up....

I got this as we have a generator now for power outages due to hurricanes (I live in SE Texas) and everything in the house is electric so I don't have to worry about C02 regularly but if we have to run the generator and it has to be moved due to storms, we'll have something to notify us in case any C02 gets in the house (obviously the generator won't be inside the house running) but if it can't be on the back porch but has to be moved to a (vented & open) garage, we'll be safe from CO2 poisoning. I bought this brand as it's a well known & trusted brand and I wanted something battery operated in case of power outages and not having to worry that the battery isn't working. It installed on the wall easily and we tested it and the initial alarm isn't loud but the secondary alarm is loud (we installed this in our long hallway that bedrooms come off of so it will reverberate off the walls and wake us up in the event of CO2 in the house.

I like the ease of set-up and the LOUD alarm.Easy to test. CO level (hopefully zero) is displayed, a green LED will flash for ten years.When the unit reaches it's end of life the alarm will beep for a month until you disable it.

if i would go to Co##co before - I'd buy there, 2 for same price. anyway - easy to install and looks working, would hope for 10 years.
