I go my laptop stolen. The plastic plate was removed from the laptop. They simply scratched with something sharp in between the plate and the laptop until it lost adhesion. The same laptop was additionally secured with a Kensington Combination Ultra Cable Lock for Laptops and Other Devices (K64675US) that I bought from Amazon which was mechanically forced open. Looks like for real professional thieves none of that is a deterrent...

Poorly keyed locks takes several minutes of giggling and twisting to maybe release the lock.I have 3 in use and all suffer the same terrible key mechanism.A fourth one never worked and is in it's locked state out of the box, useless. The other Kennsington locks with cylinder keys work great, much higher quality.

I have been using this for a while to secure a monitor and two external hard drives. One of the hard drives died and I wanted to secure its replacement, so ordered another set. While waiting I wondered if I could get the plastic anchor off and re-use it. I set it on a table, placed a putty knife at the joint, and with one feeble blow popped it off. Now I don't feel as secure. The epoxy that came with the set worked fine, but didn't bond to the hard drive's plastic case as strongly as I would have expected.

This is exactly as I expected and as described. Simple to install. Sturdy "module" attachment via included Super Glue. Cable is long enough for three items. I ran mine through a large eye-screw in the wall to keep the systems from going anyplace.I suppose this item might deserve 5-stars - but, by necessity and function, it's not every attractive. Not really Kensington's fault on that. But something ingenious would earn a 5th star :)

The cable is and lock are fairly strong. However, they send glue for the white attachments through which the cable passes to lockdown the equipment. It is not difficult for anyone to break off that white attachment and take the device.Additionally, my Dell computers are equipped with holes through their metal cases through which to pass a lockdown cable. However, the head of the cable is too thick to pass through those more secure holes...So, I had to purchase other lockdown cables.

It looks to me as if the cable could be cut with a pair of wire cutters. Certainly anyone with any real intent to steal the things would not find it difficult. It might discourage a spontaneous theft.

Have a small home safe for documents and cash at home. Wanted to create a deterrent to someone walking off with it.The outside of the small safe is plastic and the adhesive worked great on the case. I now secure it to a fixed object and have some level of security. Not many solutions out there for securing file safes to fixed object, that I could find.Great value, does the job.

This will help give you a sense of security. I know from personal experience that you will have to take a hammer and chisel to these discs if you want them off. Wrap them around the desk and you are good. Easy and quick to install, smart design of the discs and the wire, just don't lose the key :)
