This Kensington laptop lock saved my life. I was addicted to using my computer, but then decided to lock it up in the living room. Ever since then, I have not been using my computer very much. This laptop lock is made from high quality materials. The lock itself works well. The rubber lining protects the computer from damage. The design is very good. I recommend this product.

the actual item is not same as shown in the image. cable is much smaller in diameter a small wire cutter can snap in seconds. lock and key is small and weakling. very disappointed.

Este cable de seguridad es justamente lo que estaba buscando. Aunque algo más caro que otras alternativas, basta con tenerlo en las manos para poder apreciar la calidad. Si el precio no es tu criterio más importante, yo creo que es un artículo muy recomendable.

Ich nutze das Schloss ausschließlich um mein Notebook in der Unibibliothek bei kurzen Pausen oder Recherchen im Regal unbeaufsichtigt stehen zu lassen, von daher ist in meinem Fall lediglich der Abschreckungseffekt von Nöten, da wohl keiner versuchen wird das Schloss zu knacken.Ich bin mit meiner Wahl voll und ganz zufrieden:-Die Schlüssel sind sehr klein und handlich, ich kann daher nicht nachvollziehen, dass diese zu lang für einen Schlüsslebund sein sollen, sie sind kürzer als jeder reguläre Haustürschlüssel.-Die Bemerkung des üblen Geruchs hat mich vom Kauf eines billigen Schlossel abgeschreckt. Auch dieses Schloss hatte einen unangenehmen Geruch, diesen hat es jedoch nach dem Auspacken recht zügig verloren.-Die Verarbeitung des Schlosses ist wirklich tadellos. Durch den Gummiaufsatz am Schlussende wird mien Notebook nicht verkratz.-Das Schloss sitzt nicht bombemfest, sondern ist etwas locker. Dies ist jedoch meines Erachtens positiv, da ich den Laptop, wenn ich damit arbeite, somit nicht abschließen muss und ihn gefahrlos etwas bewegen kann ohne ihn zu verkratzen.-Es besteht keine Gefahr, dass das Schloss sich einfach herauslösen lässt (Sony Vaio VPCCB3S1E)-Der angebrachte Kabelbinder macht es einem einfach, das Schloss schnell aufzuwickeln wodurch ich es schnell in der Seitentasche meiner Laptophülle verstauen kann.

Nice . It is well worth the money .I got it for $38 in November 2002 . I consider it cheap . My computer is safe :)

It works for my X1 Carbon. It's nicely built and the price is OK. I'd definitely recommend this to a friend.

I bought this so that I could secure my netbook when I am out and about. On reading the instructions I found that there is a feature which stops the lock being tampered with and sends it into lockdown mode. In this state you cannot use the key to unlock it and need to phone a technical support number for advice on how to recover from the lockdown. I did not want a device that would prevent me from getting my netbook. This puts me off using the lock as I may not get a reception and be unable to contact the technical support. I emailed Kensington for advice but they did not reply so the lock will not be used.UpdateI finally got a reply from Kensington support"When the lock is in lockdownmode, there is no option to get it open, we advice to contact a certified locksmith and then contact us for refund and replacement of the lock" This could leave you high and dry if you could not get a locksmith or even one who believed it was your laptop. My lock goes in the bin - I am safer taking my chances with the crooks.
