This is a great product for transporting kayaks or canoes in anything other than a truck. If your car has a luggage rack, this should work for you. You don't need any tools. Each holder has four hand knobs on it that you use to tighten these to your luggage rack crossbars. That's it. Install done. It has ratcheting straps for tying stuff down. I have transported a kayak and a canoe at the same time on a car that you couldn't fit either of these inside of if you tried. This summer I will see how well it holds onto the paddleboard, but I feel fairly confident that this will get the job done.
