I am very happy with this purchase. The rack is well-made, solid and easily as well-built as my other much more expensive Thule folding kayak racks on my Outback. I needed a second set of racks for my old Honda Civic, and didn't want to spend a lot of money, so I purchased these. Very solid construction, and designed to fit any style crossbars. I had a hard time securing a 14 foot canoe, but these are great for smaller canoes and just about any kayak. I also like that the entire assembly is small enough that I still have room for my bicycle rack right beside the kayak rack. Great product that gets the job done without breaking the bank.

The brilliant thing about these carriers is that they are able to fold or unfold fully, so when installed but not used they don't add any height to your vehicle. However the carrier is designed to sit on a 1 1/4" or less flat crossbars. Anything wider, the carrier will have one contact point. Crossbars of shapes other than flat will have only 2 contact points and will get scratched or possibly damaged. I tried to highlight that in the pictures as I had 1 1/2" crossbars and had to switch them to 1 1/4".With that said, I give them 5 stars, the install and removal is a breeze and they seem very sturdy.

They fit the honda brand rails for my '24 hrv.The racks hold my kayaks fine. I use ratchet straps instead of the straps that came with the racks.Initial assembly is a bit confusing, but the instructions serve.Mounting and removal are not as easy as I'd like, but the price makes it worth the little extra effort

it didn't work for my application,. The pictures made it seem like there 2 bottom plates for each rack that held the it to the bar but in fact there was only one heavy plate. My application needed 2 plates, one on each side of the column so I had to return it. The Geek rack worked better for me. They did seem to be well made sturdy construction.

We have them on rails next to our rooftop tent and they work really well. It’s a bit of a pain strapping down but that’s our own doing. We use extra straps just for piece of mind as they straps they come with aren’t great. I’ll try and add a picture later.Reason for a four is the straps they come with are not the best.

Holds 2 kayaks well, but I imagine if I spread the racks out I could fit another in the middle if need be. The straps that come with it are decent, but I'll likely use a single ratchet holding the yaks together in the center as well. They look like they are good quality because they ARE good quality.Mounting them was an absolute breeze. Each one has two twist nuts to tighten them down. Also very easy to loosen them and reposition if needed. The paddle holders are nice but the strap is a little hard to release.. and by a little I mean probably more than its worth if you can spare room inside for them..There was no wind noise at all other than if a strap vibrates in the wind no matter the speed. As other reviews have mentioned the top part of the mounting area has no padding so it WILL scratch your crossbar over time I'm sure.. but its a cargo rack so you shouldn't be worried about that anyway.Overall I'd give it a 9/10. Really the only thing I'd want is those paddle straps to be easier to release..

As many have commented the instructions aren't very good. But I found YouTube videos (by the same couple) that (a) give helpful advice on assembly, and (b) give advice and instructions on loading two kayaks on this specific rack. We have used it multiple times and the kayaks don't move at all, even at 70 mph. Contrary to what the loading video says, it is not important to keep the straps perfectly flat. In fact, they vibrate less and make less noise if you don't. Finally, one of the photos shows the straps running from the center upright part of the rack to the outside part of the rack. That is wrong. Run the straps from the center upright of the rack, over the kayak, THROUGH the outer part of the rack, around the car's crossbar, back THROUGH the rack and then fasten. That way you are strapping the kayaks to the car's crossbar, rather than just the rack. Doing it that way (which is what they show in the video referenced) is VERY secure. Also, I have a standard garage and when I fold down the center upright portion of the rack (which is quick and easy), I can leave the rack on the car (a Honda CRV) and pull it into the garage with plenty of clearance. Very convenient.
