Was a decent rod until till it broke on a cast. I wanted to try and get a few more feet on my cast to get my jig a little further so I cast it really hard but when I did, it broke right in the middle. Frustrating because it was a great size and felt really good.

Honestly, I just can't stop raving about the KastKing Compass Fishing Rod. First of all, upon taking it out of the box, I had to say that it's really a tall and sleek piece; the design screams quality. Be one who has experience or be a beginner in the field- this rod never disappoints. What makes it stand out? First, it's lightweight yet very durable. I have used it in different conditions, from calm lakes to rougher waters, and every time, it performed just great. It has a smooth on-feel when casting and gives excellent control when reeling in your catch. For the price, you’d expect some compromises, but there aren’t any. It’s clear that KastKing has put serious thought into creating a rod that combines performance and affordability. Plus, it’s easy to transport, making it perfect for weekend trips or spontaneous fishing adventures. If you’re looking for a rod that delivers high-end performance without the high-end price, this is it. Highly recommended—don’t hesitate to add this to your gear! ????

I keep my reviews to products I absolutely recommend, or for when I feel a buyer needs to be aware of something, and unfortunately it's the latter in this case. The guides on this pole are uneven, and are laughable thin, which unfortunately means that attempting to level them out puts you at risk of them breaking. It's not hard to see that even with light use, that the guides will not be the part of this rod that stands the test of time. The same goes with the fiberglass tip. I've seen a fair share of telescopic poles, and this is the first time I've seen a warped fiberglass tip. While it seems to be responsive and does a good job of delivering a good cast, the quality control and state of it new gives a less than reassuring feeling on how long it'll last. The rod construction itself is incredibly solid and feels like it could take a hell of a beating. This makes the condition of the guides and tip so much more of a mystery to why they're so sub par. I've got an Ozark trail telescoping spinner that at $20 has amazingly solid guides and tip. I feel that there is no excuse on why the guides are so badly produced, to the point they are ready to snap at a moments notice. Sure, they can't be bound on both sides, or in multiple points on the face side, but the binding isn't the issue, it's what is bound to the rod that's the issue.I'd love to see the xomp

I bought this for my trip to Florida and i paired it with the Kastking Royale Legend II (5.4:1). It’s a pretty cheap combo but perfect for traveling as it fit in my large suitcase. The rod is pretty lightweight and the i would say the feel and acton are a medium. You will have a good time fighting and reeling in any fish over 1 lb. I certainly did not buy this rod for its backbone. Portability was my #1 concern and this rod excelled at that.My only complaint is when you’re extending the rod, the pieces tend to spin around causing your line to wrap around the rod. You just need to be careful and slowly pull out each section

I got mine sept 2020 and am looking to buy more.I hope they did not change quality. Looking at all the 1 star reviews.I took it fishing in california, montana, arizona and belize.Yes the tip is super bendy allowing some fish to set themselves free - pike and bonefish will get off easily. It performs beautifully as long as you don’t try to set the hook like a maniac.Small and big mouth bass, porgy, trout, catfish, bluegill, snapper.Had some snags where I had to yank the lure, hook out of rocks and branches - still works.Aligning the guides takes a while to get used to but gets easier with practice.I also have the blqckhawk which has free floating guides. That is a pain to align. That one has the guides fixed to each segment. It will not replace a fast action or a deep sea fishing rod- you will not be able to catch swordfish with it.But in a pinch, it works. And is fun.Because of the bendy tip you feel uthe fight.I wish kastking would send me some of their products for review. Or at least the missing buttcap - haha I travel a lot. Will be ordering another one and will update here on how it goes.Pros:Portability - can have one in the car all the timeReliable so farNice feel in handLightCons:It takes a little while to get used to casting accurately because of the bendy tipLost the buttcapNo other cons. I enjoy fishing with this rod.

For the price, it's a great telescopic rod, feels well made. I might replace the reel though, it feels pretty stiff and you do have to put a lot of effort in to closing the bail by reeling which makes me worry for the longevity of that mechanism.

This rod is a fantastic trunk and travel rod! The rod tip is nice and flexible allowing easy casting and good lure action. I caught about a 1 pounder my first time using it and it handled it no problem. I had a small issue where I bent the last line guide slightly which made a small crack in the metal. I bent it back but next time I stored the rod, when I reeled down on the line it was enough to fully bend and break the line guide. Not a huge issue, I spent $5 to buy a new rod tip and glue it on and it is good as new!Pros: lightweight, small, compact, inexpensive, looks great, performs wellCons: the butt is a little short for my taste, wish there were more line guides or floating guides like the Blackhawk II
