If you fish for Bait, these are the rods for you. I recommend the eight footer and a real that will bring the line in as fast as you can. 35 inches or more per crank would be ideal. takes the pain in the ass aspect out of using Sabiki Rigs. I have five of these rods, no more messing around with Sabiki hooks.

This is the perfect rod for the sabiki mackerel jig. Not only do the hooks retract into the hollow rod but when you have mackerel on line if you reel them up to the tip and they pop right off with out touching them.

Very frustrating when you come upon bait and you can’t get the thing to deploy because every hook snags the ledge on the inside of the tip of pole. I kept having to retract and shake the pole to get it to come out. Those little hooks will grab even the smallest snag. It needs to be smooth on the inside. Sending it back.

8ft with a cheap zebco reel works great. Makes sure you get weight that can sink into the body of the rod a bit to hold it.If you have cast a Sabiki's before, they are not easy but you can get the hang of it. I can throw a sabiki + 1oz weight at least 60-80 ft with this without issue - I was concerned from other reviews. I like to use this technique in the flats targeting skittish bait fish that run from the boat.

I think it's the better choice of the 2 sabiki rods available on Amazon (at this time). I purchased the EatMyTackle (EMT) sabiki rod first and it just screamed poor quality. I had several issues with it that led to me returning it. I purchased the AHI RSB sabiki rod as a replacement and it is significantly nicer. The inside of the rod is smoother allowing the sabiki rig to slide more freely and allows for a much faster setup over the EMT rod. The handle is shorter allowing a longer length sabiki rig to fit inside the rod portion. I purchased the 8' version and it measures 8'-2" from end to end. The EMT and the AHI are the only two sabiki rods i've ever used so I cannot compare them to more expensive rods found at local shops, but the AHI seems to be a decent rod for the price and does its job.

Looks good quality, yes a little too short for a 6 hook sabiki however the main issue is setting it up. The hole at the reel end is too small for anything other than the line which means your trying to thread a line through a 6’ pipe. Maybe I’m doing something wrong but there’s no real instructions soEnded up attaching the smallest hook I could find to add some weight but then it’s not a lot.

I bought the 7' model and it is too short for a #6 sabiki. To make the sabiki short enough to reel all the way into the rod I had to cut off the snap swivel and tie the shortened line directly to the bell sinker. I see no reason to get a 7-footer since this is a 3-piece rod and easily fits in a rod locker if you remove the top piece. Get the 8-footer. If you're like me and cast or pitch the sabiki to a school of bait (Vs dropping straight down) one can easily cast a 2 oz bell sinker 60+ feet or pitch it a good ways. I mounted an old Calcutta 400 with 30# braid on the rod. Nice outfit. Works great.

Ahi USA a California based company offers this 8-Feet Sabiki Stick Boat Rod With Storage Bag for a price of $59.99, which is expensive. Once you have it on the boat, rigged with a sabiki rigging and a weight, it is forgotten how expensive it is. These specialty items are a luxury and the convenience of it's use as a specialty item for just catching bait, must be evaluated with it's use. I love mine and hope it offers years of use, providing hassle free bait fishing. Really, bait-fishing should be a fun effort not an effort to get bait. This rod is a good way to use the sabiki rig with out so much tangling and headaches. Good fishing. I love it.
