I bought a similar multi tester (Taklife) with a rotating selection knobs a few years ago. It has given me grief from the day I bought it. Initially thought it was the tester wires but it ended up being the selection knob being faulty. So when I looked for its replacement this time I went with a digital button option. This one has worked flawlessly in the few months I've been using it. I like the auto option, and it has usually chosen the appropriate option , but switching to manual selection is as simple as pressing the button, so to ensure I'm getting the tester functioning I want I often simply choose that function manually right from the start. I am using it mostly for auto and powersports vehicle testing and it has worked great for this. Battery testing, resistance tests on snowmobile hand and thumb warmer, continuity testing on switches and components, all simple, quick, and repeatable. Display is bright and easily read. NCV option appears to work well just placing the sensor in proximity to a live system. For my infrequent use it seems to be a very good tester, and I don't find the button pressing to take any more time than other options as some others have mentioned. Very happy with it so far. Recommend both this item and seller based on my experience so far.

This is an interesting meter that kind of does it all. I really enjoy it's compact size yet it still has a decent size clamp. The screen is very bright and readable but must be viewed from almost straight-on. Some people dislike the auto-mode detection but it has worked for me in most cases. The live non-contact detection has bright LED that also lights in the presence of voltage along with sound so no missing it in loud environments. It has a small built-in LED light that can work as a tiny flashlight but it's not that bright.I have found the current and voltage measurements to be more than adequate for home use and never regretted not buying a Fluke. In the photo I posted you can see the meter revealing a difference in charge current being reported by a battery app vs. what is actually being measured.I have several other meters but this one is now my "go to" meter and every time I pull it out and use it I'm reminded I don't need those other meters anymore.I would buy this meter again.

This replaced a stolen meter. Thought I would try out the color display. As a service tech, older I may add. This type display does not do well in the sunlight. To see what function it was on I had to get the display in the shade. I had this unit about five months. The auto function, I did not like. You have to select AC or DC, so to me that's not auto. When it worked, I felt more comfortable selecting the setting I wanted it to be on. At about five months it stopped working. Would not test voltage correctly. When flipped to continuity it beeped all the time. Spent an hour or two checking for 12 volts DC, meter showed no voltage when their was voltage. I depend on a meter being accurate. I will go back to known name brand meters

Great Prime Day deal on a very handy multi-meter. Auto feature is innovative. Simply turn on meter to access several functions. Inrush feature is also interesting. Feels solid and well built. So far . . . would recommend

I mainly purchased this for home use. I have 40+ years as an electrician and industrial machine technician and generally use Flukes on the job. I selected this primarily because of the clamp amp meter and inrush functions for checking HVAC motors. I gave it 5 stars because it’s a solid, well functioning device, and I don’t believe in de-rating something because of a personal preference. I’m not a fan of the Auto-Select functionality. It just isn’t my thing, I know how to set-up a meter and I prefer to set the function with an analog selector switch. I see the Digital Auto-Select function as a potential failure point later down the road. For casual user however this function would be a plus and aid them in ease of use and accuracy.

I wanted a DC amp clamp meter and this meter does better than expected. I wasn’t sure about the auto function but, I’ve grown to love it. It feels solid and time will tell how durable it is. For what it does the value is exceptional! I rarely use my old Fluke anymore.

I've owned a number of multimeters in the past, but this is my first clamp-on amp meter. One of the main things I wanted an amp meter for is to measure, and troubleshoot my A/C unit. In addition to a standard amp reading, this unit has the capability of measuring "onrush current", which is an extremely helpful measurement to know if you're wanting to run your air conditioner with a portable generator. The other function I didn't think I'd care about, but love, is the Auto feature. When you connect the meter, it automatically figures out if you're trying to measure voltage (AC or DC), resistance, amperage, or continuity, and sets itself. It's pretty slick really. There's is one seemingly minor way this meter excels over my high dollar, name brand meter. . . I can actually hear the beeper! I've lost a good deal of my ability to hear high frequency tones, and when I try to measure continuity with my other meter, I just can't hear the thing. This meter's tone is loud and clear to me, and that's a big deal. Another big deal is the auto power off feature. I appreciate not coming back to dead batteries because I left the power on. If you need to keep the meter on beyond the 15 minute auto shutdown, you can turn this feature off.I've tested the meter's accuracy, and it appears to be well within the stated tolerance, except for temperature. Frankly, temperature isn't all that accurate. At room temperature, I'm seeing about 5 degrees low. Putting the thermocouple in ice water reads 1.6 degrees low. And because there's no manual calibration feature, there's no way to correct it. It's really not that important to me, as I didn't buy the meter for this purpose. Another nit is that the display is a bit hard to read in direct sunlight. Not impossible, but certainly more difficult. Overall however, I'm impressed with this meter, and if I lost it, I'd buy it again.
