The construction and quality of stainless steal is excellent. These rings offers the professional chef or home cook the versatility of food plating options for impressive food displays that will wow any guest or family member. The plunger is a great and easy way to gently push food through ring without worry of collapse. Highly recommended for food art displays and anyone desiring creative food expression.

I search numerous products for the perfect size. This one is a great height and width. We keep thinking of ways to plate our food using the molds.

These are very high quality forming rings, that are sturdy and seamless. For that, they deserve 5 stars. However, these are not biscuit cutters, no matter what fool thing is claimed on Amazon. Yes, you can use them as biscuit cutters, but there is no sharp edge on the bottom, and they will dig into your hands if you push down on them very hard. These are forming rings, and you can get away with using them for some other purpose, but they are best as forming rings. As biscuit cutters, they are no more than 3 stars, and even that may be overly generous. If you are wanting biscuit or cookie cutters, look elsewhere.Küchenprofi, by the way, does not claim that these are biscuit cutters anywhere on the package (or in their catalog on their website); that bit of nonsense is just claimed here at Amazon in the description provided by Amazon. So Küchenprofi should not be blamed or rated low for this ridiculous claim. One other thing: People have claimed that these are made in Germany, but they do not say that on the rings or on the packaging. It is a German company and it says so on the package, but it does NOT say "made in Germany" anywhere on it. They could be made in China or anywhere else, as they do not specify where they are actually made. However, they are very good quality, just what you would expect for being made in Germany. For the benefit of those who are confused by this concept, I have had a Braun coffee maker (Braun is a German company) that is made in Mexico. A German company does not equal "made in Germany." Many Klipsch speakers are now made in China (all except for fairly high end models), even though Klipsch is an American company. Many companies contract out things to be made elsewhere, so you cannot judge where something is made by the nationality of the company whose name is on the package.

This box comes with a set of two 3" rings and two 2 ¼" rings. I like the 2"high sides of these rings. That gives me plenty of height to make decent plated dishes. I love these rings so much I have two sets. These rings are made with a welded seam but the wall of each ring has been highly polished and is very smooth. I can barely feel and see the seams. They are made from a heavy gauge stainless steel so the weight is good and they will hold up without bending. Unlike plating rings made from rolled tin-plated steel, there are no rolled edges to trap food particles. Also, the tin plated steel rings cannot be washed in a dishwasher.Besides using these as plating rings, I have been using them as egg rings (the 3" ones) and they work, even better than the non-stick egg rings I used to use! Yes, these rings are about double the height of my regular egg rings and these plating rings have no handle but that has not been a problem. To use them as egg rings, I preheat them in my on the lowest heat (I have a gas range) for 10 minutes. Then, I place about less than a quarter teaspoon of butter in each ring (for four 3" rings) allow the butter to melt, and brush the melted butter (with my ) on the bottom and up the sides of each ring just to the point where the eggs sit. Once the eggs set, I can remove the rings (using a kitchen towel since I'm still working on getting my asbestos fingers) and the eggs released without me having to scrape the rings to release the eggs! When I use my non-stick egg rings I usually have the scrape those rings with my to release the eggs. And there is no need to baby these rings like the non-stick rings so I don't have to worry about scratching a non-stick coating. Washing these rings are as easy as putting them in my dishwasher.I can also use these as biscuit cutters. I'm sure they will see plenty of other uses in my kitchen.PROS:2" height provides plenty of height for decent sized plated dishes. No rolled edges to hide food particles. The 3" size rings can be used as egg rings.Dishwasher safe.Made in Germany and not in China.CONS:A bit expensive so they are an investment.
