Step 1
Place the bar lock on the door and door frame ⅜” from the edge.
Step 2
Mark and drill the holes. Use longer screws for light-duty door frames and medium screws on hardwood frames.
Step 3
Secure the arm unit on the door with four smaller screws and use the bonus shims to level out the brackets. Screw the door lock in place.
Note: Our Swing Bar Door Lock works best on wooden doors that are at least 2 inches thick, and door frames with a minimum thickness of 4 inches.

Watched a video of a guy trying to bust through a door with different types of security locks and this is the one he had the most trouble with. I figure none would be absolutely perfect, but with this one, an unwanted guest would have to make a lot of noise and I'd be alerted by then.Just use the longest screws you can to increase the efficacy and these are perfect.Would recommend

Was recommended this lock by a you tuber that busted through the best selling locks on Amazon and this one held up well. Easy to install, looks great, feels very sturdy. Doesn't come with those cheap screws like other Amazon sellers provide. Comes with spacers which came in handy. I also like they provide 3 inch screws in addition if your door post allows.

The lock itself seems decent, viewed this first on TylerTube...however, the screws that come with it strip immediately, so you will need your own screws for sure.
