I bought this product to use for my 3D printer enclosure, to vent out any VOCs or bad chemicals, and it’s been great so far.Perfect CFM for my negative pressure tent, can visibly see the enclosure tightening when you zip it up.

The fan is like silent fart. It might be quiet, but it can still be terrible.Up front the 4in Ventilation Kit (iPower Grow Tent System 4 Inch Inline Ventilation 195 CFM, Carbon 8 Feet 1 Pair, Circulation Vent Blower Air Filtration Kit, 4'' Fan + Ducting+Filter+Rope) looks like a pretty good deal. The included ducting, filter, and accessories were all surprisingly good quality, but that's where the good ended. While the fan seemed decent on first inspection, after hooking it up I noticed that it leaked very badly around the center seam. After sealing up the center seam and confirming that it was no longer leaking air there or at either connection, I did a few intake flow tests and found that it performed considerably WORSE than a small purifier unit with an even smaller carbon/HEPA filter and a fan rated at only 60 CFM. With the larger opening, less resistance, and a fan supposedly rated for 195 CFM, it should have easily outperformed that little air purifier. I'd return it if I hadn't sealed it for the air leak; guess I'll just butcher it for parts and find a better fan elsewhere.If you're considering this kit to save some money, I'd highly recommend finding something better upfront unless you want to be buying multiple fans like I now have to.

This exhaust system runs quietly. I barely know it's running at times. It works great and I have no issues with it. The set up was easy and it did exactly what I wanted it to do. I recommend this.

Great product for my purpose. It’s a great deal and I received every item shown. Only dislike is trying to hang the in-line fan because it doesn’t come with any brackets and the adjustable hang ropes are useless! But solved that issue with some zip ties from DOLLA Tree

this fan and carbon filter are a good deal. 6/10 rating all together. way noisier then I thought but keeps smell down well. good for small budget

It’s small, it functions, it’s not loud. All the items shown in the picture showed up in the box. So no missing pieces here but my fan power adjuster didn’t work. It just ran barely on and didn’t have any power at all. So I left it plugged in with out the adjuster it’s a pretty low power fan to begin with. That’s why only three stars… Really hope it actually cleans the cubic feet it advertises.But I would maybe recommend a different fan if your super concerned about smell this has a very very thin lining over its filter. And very low power fan. Also a bit of information the description was lacking this fan runs 28watts. Will update with smell status after a few days….

I bought this to make my own soldering station smoke/fume remover, as it was just a dollar more than a commercial offering that doesn’t seem as capable. For this application it works great, though the filter is HUGE and takes a lot of room. As you can see in my photo, it takes an entire shelf. This thing really sucks in a good way, and is much quieter and at least four times more effective than the Sodrtek fume remover I was using. The only parts of the kit I ended up using were the fan, filter, and one hose clamp. The inlet hose is a piece of 4-inch semi-rigid duct from Big Blue Box store.While it does work great for my application, I can see how its use in a grow room might be somewhat limited. It is a really good fan and has pretty good water column pressure, so the filter doesn’t reduce the efficiency of the fan very much. But, the turnover isn’t that high. It might be OK for a 4x4 foot grow room, but I don’t think it would work well in anything bigger.
