I knew I had to get this 15W solar panel fan kit for my chicken coop, even though it's not the season to worry about exhaust fans yet. Seeing the 15W panel, I realized I'd have 10-13W of extra power under ideal conditions, considering an average 1200mm fan uses only 1-2.5W. This surplus power could solve my coop door battery problem. I haven't rewired the coop door yet, but I plan to add an extra power bank with a timer for backup power or use a temperature-controlled relay to manage power distribution between the fans and the coop door. Once I have enough power, the possibilities for improving my coop's functionality are endless

The product is pretty straight forward. Two fans, one solar panel, some mounting hardware. There are no instructions in the box. I will have to disassemble some of the fan guards and purchase some mounting hardware. The fans feel heavy so that might be a good sign. Time will tell if they are good for outdoor use.

I got this solar-powered fan kit to improve ventilation in a small pet enclosure, and overall, it does the job well. The solar panel is efficient and starts powering the fans as soon as it gets sunlight. The fans are fairly quiet and provide a decent airflow, making them great for chicken coops, small greenhouses, or pet homes. However, I did notice that the fans don’t have a battery backup, meaning they only run when there’s sunlight. This isn’t ideal for nighttime or cloudy days. Additionally, the airflow is moderate, so it’s best for small spaces rather than larger areas. For the price, it’s a solid option if you need a simple, eco-friendly ventilation solution. Just be aware of its limitations and plan accordingly.

I picked this up primarily for the 15W solar panel, which appears to be well made. Its wattage output is largely dependent on the level of sunshine and the angle of the panel to the sun. With good sun and a good angle of the panel facing the sun, the fans whirl pretty good. However, when the angle changes or sunlight isn't as good, the fans slow down considerably or even stop. For applications regarding the safety of animals in a kennel or a coop, I'd likely look for a more consistent/reliable setup. I plan to use the solar panel as a portable to charge my phone at camp sites and relegate the fans to other electronic projects. Please not the solar panel does not include a charge controller, if you elect to do something similar, and that the controller would have to be purchased separately.

Got this for my wife's little green house. We got the house kit and will be building it this coming spring.I figured we would want some air movement. I have tested this out and it blows pretty good. Can't wait to get the structure up and put this in it.

I received this product from the Amazon Vine program for free in exchange for my honest review. I have been looking for a solar powered exhaust fan setup for my chicken coop for some time and finally saw this so thought it would be what I needed. It is and it isn't if that makes sense. The solar panel needs direct sun in order to power the two included fans. My coop gets direct sun only about half the day where I can put the panel. I am already looking into more wires to lengthen the included wires so I can get the panel where it will get sun at the time of day the coop is at its hottest. I am also going to see about a battery for the setup to keep the fans running even longer. The fans are whisper quiet, though. They aren't the most powerful, but given their size, they move a bit of air. I doubt they will really make a huge difference in my coop due to its size, but only time will tell. All in all, I think this kit is a solid buy and a great start if it is something you really need.

Pros:1) decent value at $35 for the panel and two outdoor rated fans2) the panel is very thin, this might also be a con depending on your use case3) the wires are plenty long for just about any use case I can think of for fans this small4) the wire connectors are easy to put together and seem like they will be waterproofCons:1) the solar panel has to be literally in direct sunlight for the fans to spin...indirect sunlight won't create enough energy to move them. As long as you understand this then it might not be a problem for your use case2) the fans don't move enough air to effectively cool any of the large enclosures shown in the product photos, especially when you consider con #13) the fans are much smaller than the horrible out-of-scale photoshopped product pictures4) the panel doesn't have any metal grommets so you have to be very careful when mounting it otherwise you can easily crack the panel.5) the brackets provided for the fans are usable but won't look very good, not really a big deal for most cases6) the "instruction" sheet is just a picture showing the wires connected...nothing about placement, fan airflow direction, or mounting. This type of product is not good for any cooling job where whatever you're trying to cool HAS to be cooled down otherwise it will die/fail/etc. This is for something that will be just fine on it's own but you just want a little extra peace of mind without spending much money or putting in much effort. You could maybe use this for a very small dog house, but I wouldn't trust it for that if your dog doesn't have any better way to stay cool. This is NOT sufficient for any living creature when it's really hot out.So maybe it would be good for some kind of electronic equipment enclosure that just needs a little extra airflow during the mid-day direct sunlight but doesn't need 24x7 cooling.Or maybe for a small storage bin that you want to keep from getting too much moisture build-up to prevent mold growth.Personally I'm going to connect the panel to an MPPT controller and use it to charge up batteries and then have the fans running off the batteries.Specs from Mfr (these should be on product listing but they werent):Standard voltage of 12Vmaximum current of 1.25Aopen circuit voltage of 15.5V (I measured 15.8v)short circuit current of 1.37V
