Fantastic unit. I'm adapted to a need for which it wasn't intended. I purchased many Vivosun products and the quality and the value are wonderful. The customer service is also tremendous!

I'm using this to exhaust fumes from my laser engraver. While I'm not convinced it's moving the amount of air it advertises (440cfm is a lot, compared to similarly designed units), I'm not smelling smoke, so it appears to do what I need it to. It's surprisingly quiet, even at full power. The only thing that had me scratching my head is the way the foot is designed. I was mounting to wood with screws, and if you attach the foot to the fan, the screw holes aren't really accessible to mount to the surface (it has to be screwed or bolted to something. It won't stand on its own). So I had to attach the foot to a couple perpendicular wooden feet so that I could screw the foot to the fan. Then I screwed the wooden feet to my mounting surface. I'm also not sure what is the purpose of the vinyl shroud around the housing. It's too thin to be sound-deadening. All in all, however, it's getting the job done, so four stars.

Works great in the ceiling of my closet for circulation since we do not have AC to prevent humidity issues here in Hawaii

This fan served me well for 6 years. It started making sounds all you need to do is take the hoses off, unplug it, take WD-40, and spray all up in it on both sides it will make sounds for a little while then stop. It is running well once again. I hope to get 6 more years out of it. Hope this helps someone.

Evacuating fumes in the room. Works well but noisy. The speed dial is not good. It will go full blast and as you tun it further, instead of speeding up as you would expect, it will actually go slower.Motor is not very balanced. Low RPM will shake the motor.Cable from the outlet to the speed dial is very very short, almost not usable at all.Who ever designed this, need to stop using drugs.

I recently added the VIVOSUN 6 Inch Inline Duct Fan to my fiber laser setup, and it has made a noticeable difference in my ventilation system. With an impressive airflow of 440 CFM, this fan effectively keeps the air circulating, ensuring that any fumes or dust generated during operation are efficiently removed from my workspace. The adjustable speed controller is a fantastic feature, allowing me to set the fan to the perfect airflow level for my needs. Plus, the fan operates quietly at just 50 dB, which is a huge improvement over my previous setup. I can focus on my projects without being distracted by loud fan noise.Installation was a breeze thanks to the included mounting bracket, making it easy to hang and position the fan exactly where I needed it. Overall, I’m thrilled with this fan—it’s performed exactly as expected and has greatly enhanced my fiber laser experience!

Been running a full year, nonstop, at about medium speed, zero problems. I have done no maintenance. It moves a lot of air. It's kind of loud, but I can't compare loudness to other fans of the same size. When it was in my living room it was too loud. It's in my bedroom now not far from my bed and that doesn't bother me.I am mining in a grow tent in a small 1br apartment and this ventilation solution has allowed me to max out my apartment electrical grid and keep quite an oversized (for my living situation) mining operation going. I have a smaller intake fan by the same brand, a different model, and with the two fans I circulate the outside air through my tent (both intake and exhaust tubes hang out the window), so that it does not affect the air pressure in my apartment. It was really drafty when I was either sucking air in, or blowing it out. I thought I was getting the Korean Fan Death, my mouth would be soooooooo dried out every morning because my bedroom had like low air pressure. So keep in mind if you are exhausting hot air outdoors, that creates an air pressure gradient with other impacts.I built an audio dampening box out of foam and wood to enclose the tent with the fan in it, and it helped, but was only maybe necessary. Hope this helps!

Loud but it works great for temperature control and removes odor quite nicely.I bought a 2nd unit as I have two spaces. The 1st unit has been running continuous for at least 10months. This unit SUCKS in a good way : )

I bought this to replace the HVAC booster fans I had on my filter box for the exhaust on my laser cutter. This thing literally blows away the stuff you can buy at your local hardware store. Some of the earlier reviews are true that this thing foes leak some air out of the seams and near the screw holes. But like any vent system there will be leaks at the seams unless you tape them with foil tape. (you can pick it up at any hardware store near the ductwork supplies)It is a little noisy at full speed, but not like vacuum cleaner or shop vac loud. Probably comparable to the volume of a clothes dryer at most. At the outside duct there is almost no sound at all. I did pick up a variable speed controller for it at my local hardware store that is meant for things like grinders and it works perfectly with this.Prior to installing this my work area would have a slight haze in the air from whatever I happened to be cutting or engraving. But with this fan pulling air out of a filter box containing 2 standard particulate filters, plus an activated charcoal hepa filter, this is no longer a problem. My previous fan setup didn't have enough oomph to extract everything outside. I can cut thick plywood with no smoke lingering around. Polyethylene no longer makes my work area smell like someone melted every candle in existence, and acrylic and other sheet plastics no longer leave things smelling like vaporized plastic. This was probably one of the best upgrades I could have purchased for my setup.

I've been using this fan in a 4x4 tent and it is working perfectly for my needs and expectations. It is very powerful fan, but it is surprisingly quiet. I should note that I suspended the fan using zip ties to eliminate vibration noise. From holding this unit you can tell it is not a cheaply made fan. IAm happy with the quality; It has some weight and isn't made out of plastic. The inlet and outlet were easy to connect aluminum ducting to. The screws to attach the fan to the mounting bracket were a bit tough to reach while holding the fan but it still only took me a few minutes to complete. I am happy with this purchase and I am hoping for several years use out of this fan.

I just received from Vivosun: (1) 8”Noise Silencer, (2) 8” Inline Fan with Variable Control, and (3) 8” Carbon Filter.Although they will soon be installed in my indoor garden, I decided to try simply stacking them (no clamps or tape!) to use in my living area to control odours related to trimming fresh plant material. Wowwwww! I am so impressed!! The “stack” is very stable standing with no support, and the 3-4” clearance at the top allows fresh, clean air to be distributed widely throughout the living space. The Noise Reducer is light and highly effective: Standing 1-2 feet from the “stack” while working, I was still able to hear the TV in the distance with ease. I have just purchased several for use in the garden ventilation system. Great find! The variable speed controller on the this solid, well-built and designed fan is a great feature. Even at max warp speed, it was comfortable to work around. And smell?? What smell?! NONE! The carbon filter sure does it’s job!For me, my “Vivosun Stack” is a real game changer for PORTABLE air circulation and odour control! 😎💪🙏💚

I got this fan for my 4'x4' grow tent (also a Vivosun purchase) and it is just amazing, perfect for my use. Then only a few months later it started knocking quite loudly, upon emailing Vivosun directly they issued me a full refund immediately so I could purchase another as it was the quickest way for me to get it.I will now buy all my items needed from Vivosun as you can't go wrong with a company that provides this level of service.

Product works as described. I used it in my basement to direct marijuana smoke outside through some 6" dryer tubing, which is merged into my dryer exhaust. This keeps my basement and house smoke/odour-free. I cannot predict how long it will last with marijuana smoke residue blowing through the fan blades etc, but for the money, it is well worth it.The fan is quiet itself, but with the fan mounted to a joist in the basement ceiling, the floor above it rumbles like crazy. There is a dial to adjust the fan speed.
