I’m using this 4x6 ft drum rug as a sitting area mat at our beach volunteer reception tent, where people fill out paperwork before heading out for cleanup. While it’s meant for drummers, it works well in this setting because it traps sand and debris before it spreads around the tent. Volunteers sit on chairs around it, and even with regular foot traffic, it’s holding up fine.The texture of the rug helps collect sand, which keeps the tent cleaner. Most of the sand stays on the mat instead of getting tracked everywhere. Cleaning is straightforward—a vacuum works well when I have power, and if not, shaking it out or beating it against a post gets rid of dust and debris.It seems durable. Chairs shift on it, and people step on it with wet or sandy feet, but the material is holding up. The edges stay flat, and the non-slip backing keeps it from moving around, even on hard-packed sand.The design adds some color to the space, which makes the tent look a little more organized. I imagine it would work fine under a drum kit, but for my use, it does what I need it to.I’m giving it four stars instead of five because it’s not very thick. It does the job, but if someone needs extra cushioning, this wouldn’t be the best choice. That said, it’s easy to clean, stays in place, and handles regular use well.

Not ideal for drummers. Top is not kick drum block friendly. Bottom is not “slip proof”

I'm using this for an Alesis mesh electronic kit - I've had a lot of problems with the relatively light kick drum pedal and hi-hat simulator pedal slipping around on my carpeted floor. This pad does a great job of grabbing a hold of these so that they say in place like they're supposed to.

My son is getting an electric drum set for Christmas, and I thought this would be the perfect accompaniment. Perfect size for it's intended use. The top material is actually smooth, soft and comfortable, while being densely woven to make it durable. The underside is made to be slip resistant, and there's even a fine, velcro strap to hold the mat in place once folded, to make it neat and easy to transport and/or store. The thickness not only makes the mat comfortable, but acts to buffer to sound and vibration between equipment and floor, and vice-versa. The stitched edge binding adds to the quality and appearance of the mat, making this a all-around good investment. Very happy with this item.

Product not a heavy duty rug. Works but not impress. Looks ok but not sure how long it will last.
