This is a tool that you want to have when dealing with ABS or PVC pipe that is embedded or below something. It saved me a lot of headache re-plumbing a mistake I made. SLOW and steady is the way to use this tool to get a nice clean cut.RECOMMENDED

THE BEST TOOL FOR THIS MONEY!Buy it without hesitation! I will tell you a secret they don’t advertise this but this tool is capable to cut cast iron pipe without a problem and concrete and porcelain tile too. Just buy it. You will never regret any penny you spend. I have 2 and a couple extra blades. Just in case if one will go bad (but not in this Century) it has 3 bearings!Just buy it.

Don’t bother with this. Screw loosens and falls down the drain along with the blade. Retrieved the blade with a magnet and the same happened.

I want to start by saying that I feel this pipe cutter is at least semi-disposable. It works well enough, but I don't expect it to hold up forever, especially if used on a daily basis. I used mine to cut multiple PVC pipes that were protruding from a driveway that had settled over time, and it worked quite well.I like the fact that the handle gets essentially locked on, so you won't have to worry about the shaft and blade dropping down into a pipe and leaving you trying to safely retrieve it.

Had a broken sewer line and it was broken in a bad place. The only to cut it was from inside. Worked like a champ and saved myself thousands $$$ doing it myself and not calling a plumber

The handle is a big plus as it made a very straight cut. Cut through 2” pvc much faster than I was expecting.

Used this to trim down a cleanout pipe to our septic system, though not without incident. The handle came off and for a moment as I watched everything drop I thought it would end up down there. But fortunately the blade at the end caught the loose parts as they fell. It was easy enough to tighten down with the right hex key (though that one was not included). So basically just check the assembly — that's somewhat on me as all the other parts needed attention initially too I just didn't think to check the handle. It takes a bit to get the hang of it as its easy to wander and/or get distracted and let the guide off the pipe. The other thing to note is that (in retrospect somewhat obviously I guess…) the top of the pipe has to already be straight if you need the cut to be straight.Overall this feels like a pretty nice tool and is nicely machined though. I'll still prefer my ratcheting knife whenever I can because I hate getting PVC crumbs all over, but this came in handy today and probably will again from time to time in the future 👍
