This works as expected. The numbers are not very dark on the one I got, so it's not so easy to read. I do know where the needle needs to point to, so it's easy enough for me to use that I would not need to replace it. I imagine over time, the color will wear off any way.

I misplaced my hydrometer and ordered this assuming it would work just as well. Nope. The salinity lever barely moves and continues to stick. Having used them for decades I washed it a couple of times hoping it was just stuck and that there were no air bubbles but this doesn't make a difference. The lever is also in crooked and the printed scale is nearly worn off. The item is cheap and will not register correctly.
