I didn't think this would be as useful as it is. I purchased it to repair a bottle bracket on my youngest's sons bike after switching from a mid-drive to a hub motor ebike setup which had ultimately damaged the threads. Luckily enough when my oldest wanted me to build him an ebike i had order a new frame which turned out to have poorly machined threads in its bottom bracket, definitely nice surprise to already have the right tool for the job. Is it a rare tool to need? Yes. Is it worth it to own so your not going to a bike shop and dealing with all that....YES

My original bottom bracket was in place since new (28 years) and was stuck and rusted in place. Once removed, there was a little damage to the threads besides being rusty and a little corroded. These Taps did a wonderful job of cleaning and restoring the threads in the frame. I made sure I used generous amounts of thread cutting oil. I carefully inserted the tap and began screwing it by hand and it found the threads with ease. Then I used a wrench to rotate it a few turns, backed it out and cleaned it, then repeated going deeper. Did this until all the existing threads had been freshened. The new bottom bracket screws in perfectly by hand with little effort. Perfect end result.

It is well made and sharp, I've used it on my older road racing bikes when I have upgraded the cranksets.

Used cautiously, this is the exact tool you need to chase English bottom bracket threads. Add thread cutting oil, carefully hand thread the tap into your frame (does self align but do mind the thread direction), then get out a wrench and turn until your bottom bracket threads are fully chased. Worked fine on my titanium frame, no doubt it will work fine in steel as well. King bottom bracket was binding when I tried to install earlier, super smooth after chasing the threads with this tap!

Price was great and they work perfectly. Just wished they were labeled differently because it’s a bit confusing. All and all great product.

Item arrived in good condition and ready for use. I've already used this to recover the threads on one project bike and had excellent results.

This tool provides good tactile feedback on thread engagement and cleaning. I needed a wrench only for the last couple of turns. The results were very good and the quality of the tool should provide many years of service. Very pleased and highly recommend.

Great quality tap, was able to fix cross thread BB (was a mess) using tap magic cutting fluid. Did it by hand with gloves on. If there could be one improvement it would be a rod that you could attach to both ends to connect the 2 taps, but worked great so can't complain.

こんなに太いネジタップを使うのはじめてで不安でしたが、問題なく使用できました。モンキーレンチを使用。結構重かったが、切削油を使いながら、ゆっくり回転させていったらうまくいきました。

Tried to clean out the paint and gunks in the bottom bracket of my new frame with a small metal pick so that the cups could fit in. One side still didn't work. The local shop gave me a 5 day appointment to bring the frame in so they could check it out. Couldn't wait so I ordered these for next day delivery. They worked perfectly and saved me a lot of headache and frustration. The long leading sections on front of the cutting threads made alignment a snap. The taps are very sharp and heavy, you would feel some resistance at first but the cutting/cleaning action was smooth and easy. Highly recommended them. Don't know why the manufacturers don't cut or clean the bb's after painting!
