Information
Taps can be divided into straight flute thread taps, spiral flute thread taps, spiral point thread taps and thread forming taps. They are also divided into hand taps and machine taps according to the usage. Hand taps are operated by tap wrenches. Machine taps are suggested to be used with tap collets with overload protection, and hand use or electric drills use is easy to cause breakage to the tap.

Special Coatings
The reddish-brown coating is on the surface of taps. It belongs to the normal processing process. Tips: The coating can not be wiped off, so it is not rusty. Suitable for general purpose threading, and fit a wide range of applications.
Hand Taps Styles
Taper Style Taps: Starts tapping threads square with the work pieces. Plug Style Taps: Generally used for drilling through holes. Bottom Style Taps: Generate threads on the bottom of the holes.

Wide Applications
Suitable for processing through holes or shallow blind holes. Can make new threads or rethread damaged or jammed threads in aluminum, mild steels, plastic, soft metal.
The hand tap is operated by the tap wrench handle. Use with tapping oil to get higher quality threads and more durable taps. Tapping oil is lubrication, cooling and anti-sticking. Please apply anti-rust oil for maintenance after use to prolong the service life.

Tough product. Used on too many holes and still on same tap. Trick is use oil and be straight. Good product

They tapped some hardened steel without issue. Go slow, use cutting oil, and clear the way regularly.. one turn in, half turn out, two turns in, one turn out. If it gets hard to cut, back out completely and clear the hole. For cheap taps, I'm happy. Bottom taps aren't really bottom taps.... but they did what I needed anyway.

I tapped two holes in mild steel... and I don't think the tap could tap a 4rd...

These arrived in a sealed package with way too much rust on them. The rust was into the flutes, so it wasn't the coating. Not happy.
