I had to replace an existing ChargePoint Home charger I purchased in 2016 due to failing electronics. The Home Flex is essentially the same charging station I purchased in 2016, except that it allows for higher amperage and faster charging, and it is now sold with a NACS plug option. The latter is a bonus for Tesla owners and other EV brands that include a NACS port, avoiding the need to use an adapter. My impression so far is good. It was easy to install the new charger using the same screw holes in the wall studs. I purchased the Home Flex with NEMA 6-50 plug, so the installation was literally “plug and play”.Connecting the charger with the phone app was a challenge because the phone app wouldn’t allow me to remove the old charger, so I had to call ChargePoint service line for them to remove it for me. Not sure why the app didn’t allow me to do that, since it’s shown as a function in Settings, but maybe the old charger’s electronics were preventing it (the ChargePoint technical assistance was very helpful and professional, by the way). Then I had to log out and log back in to install the new charger. In terms of cost, the ChargePoint Home Flex is about $100 less than the Tesla charger, and the latter doesn’t offer a plugged option-only hard wired. If you have an existing 220V receptacle, a plugged option will save anywhere from $200-$500 by avoiding the need to hire an electrician to install the wiring and connect the charger.Lastly, my town utility department provides a rebate for ChargePoint chargers (but not for Tesla chargers), so my net cost was $0.

There's a reason this is Car and Driver's #1 pic. Easy set up, ruggedly built, talks to the Tesla, and a great app with more info than I know what to do with. I highly recommend it.

The unit is easy to install. It's nice that a bit is included for the screws. Finding and connecting to home wifi was a breeze. Built quality is not bad, material quality could be better. Apps and customer service are good.Received an open box unit that was supposed to be new.Looks like the previous owner set up the unit to 16A so I needed to call Chargepoint to get it reset. So far so good. Charging at 39A no problem.

I have a Tesla and a Mach E and this charger does a great job on both. Tracks your charging cost down to the penny. I have it on a 50amp circuit so I charge at 40 amps which you set in the unit. You can set schedules to charge when its good for you. Highly recommend

When I first stumbled upon the ChargePoint Home Flex Charger, I was considering the complexities of my garage's welder outlet, a relic of past projects that never quite ignited as I intended. But voila! This ingenious charger turns my once neglected outlet into a beacon of sustainable progress. Installation was as effortless as you could imagine—plug and play at its finest. It was almost too simple, a testament to ChargePoint's design intuition that doesn't belittle the user but embraces them.**Pros:**- **Superlative Installation**: Forget the "some assembly required" nightmares. This was a breeze—plug it in and watch the magic unfold, like Gandalf showing up to deal with a minor dragon issue.- **Blazing Speed**: Charging my Tesla at 30 miles of range per hour is akin to having my own personal lightning bolt at home. If Nikola Tesla were alive today, he'd likely tip his hat at this speed—7 times faster than a standard wall outlet, practically bending the laws of electricity in my favor.- **App Brilliance**: The ChargePoint App might as well have a diploma hanging on the wall. It syncs effortlessly with smart home devices, practically reading my mind on when I need to charge and suggesting stations that I swear I’d once seen in a dream.- **Robust and Rugged**: Built to withstand the test of time and weather, it defies the odds—be it a blizzard or a curious toddler with a penchant for unplugging things.- **Cable of Mythical Proportions**: The 23-foot cable, reaching lengths you’d only expect in tall tales, ensures I can park my Tesla any which way the wind—or my reversing skills—blow me.**Cons:**- **Community Attraction**: Word has spread, and suddenly my garage is becoming a pit stop for friendly neighbors “just wanting to chat.” The community spirit is heartwarming, but I’m running out of cookies to offer.- **Eager Reminders from the App**: While the app's enthusiasm is commendable, its reminders are frequent enough that I’m considering inviting it to my calendar’s weekly mindfulness session.- **Pricey Investment**: This piece of technological art doesn’t come cheap, but neither does Picasso, and similarly, its value appreciates every day I use it.**Summary:**The ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 EV Charger is more than just a device; it’s a lifestyle upgrade. It ushers in a future where electric charging is not only accessible but an enjoyable aspect of everyday life. I feel empowered, enlightened, and just a little bit smug every time I plug in. This isn’t merely about miles; it’s about a movement. If charging is the future—and let’s face it, it is—then ChargePoint is the torchbearer leading us into this bright, electrified frontier. The way this charger simplifies what used to be a cumbersome task, paired with the connectivity of its app, turns every plug-in into an event worth celebrating. Like, love, comment, and share—especially with those friends still stuck in the gas-guzzling past. Let’s take this journey together because the future is electric, and you’ll want ChargePoint leading the charge, literally!

Love that this is the NACS version. Got it at a deep discount for Black Friday.Installation is quite easy and flexible, with knockouts in the back and bottom (not for top entry though).Only requires 3 screws for mounting into a stud. The power inputs are easy and press/lock into place. Same for the charging cable.Charging cable is super long and stays flexible even in sub freezing temperatures. The ChargePoint app is my only gripe. It doesn’t have the same features, information as Tesla chargers, nor seamless integration with my Tesla.I’d still prefer to use a Tesla charger, but they don’t participate in my State’s/electric utility rebate program.

Worked for half a day and the Wifi went kaput. Hard-wired, 70 amp. Lots of resources to get this product installed.
