I purchased these brackets to replace old existing brass finish banister brackets. The new brackets are sturdy and nicely finished. The hole placements for installation were the same as the original bracket which made for easy replacement.

This is nicely designed and well made. Some reviewers said that the screws were terrible, and broke easily. I didn't use the large screws (I was fixing the brackets on stucco, so I bought stucco screws for that), I did however use the smaller screws to secure an oak handrail to the brackets. With a 1/8 inch pilot hole, and a dab of dish soap as lube, the screws went in easily, and feel very secure.

The quality is good for the price but be mindful -- the fastening hardware is weak and may snap with high torque.2 screw sheared under moderate pressure and needed to be extracted.

These brackets well made and have a great finish worked perfect for the handrails I installed for a friend.Also the screws worked just fine, no screw heads breaking. Great bracket would order again its nice when something works.

My old stair rail hangers had several coats of paint on them. I used these to replace them and they worked great.

After installation this bracket performs as expected, but the screws included snapped when trying to install the rail loop to the rail. I had to obtain better screws. To be fair, it is a red oak hand rail, but I pre-drilled the holes and still they snapped. They might be okay in a hemlock rail, maybe.

These are great brackets for holding stair rails. Easy to install and very sturdy.The only negative point are the screws included.The ones for the wall are not long enough. The ones for the rail are not strong enough.We replaced the wall screws with black deck screws.The screws that fastened to the rail break too easy, even in Pre drilled holes.I’m having to replace them with Stainless steel screws and use black touch up paint.But, over all, especially considering the price they are great brackets.When taking into consideration that all the screws require replacing, they were still less expensive than all the competitors.They look really great as well.
