as another reviewer mentioned and as you can see in my picture.... but overall, I like them. I mounted blocks first then mounted these to the blocks, and it is nice and sturdy!

I bought these to add a second handrail on a flight of stairs that had a handrail on one side. As we get older having handrails on both sides make its safer.I installed them using 3-1/2" long screws into studs behind the drywall for a rock-solid and extremely firm handrail.

These handrail brackets are stiff and solidly built. They are beautifully finished, and are packed well for transport so the finish remains pristine. The price is about the same as the big box store price so there is no savings here. This exact style is not available at the big box stores, but there are similar looking ones.

The quality was great, very sturdy. But the piece that screws to the rail wasn’t deep enough for a flush fit.

I'm in the process of replacing the handrails going down to my basement. These solid brass brackets are just what I needed. I found the oak rail that I like. Now it's just a matter of laying it our and installing. It is important to layout the bracket installation so the screws will penetrate wall studs so the finished rails will be sturdy and strong. I will use a stud finder and copy of the building code to set the proper height.I highly recommend these brass brackets based on the build quality and materials used to make them. All required screws are included. The screws have a matching brass finish. This is a very attractive set.

My house has brushed nickel throughout. Sinks, door knobs, bathroom fixtures, and even ceiling fans. However, I found that my handrail leading to the basement did not have brushed nickel brackets. When it was taken down recently to make room for my new front load washer, I decided to update the brackets and find some with brushed nickel. These Franklin Brass brackets were the perfect replacement. Not having the same wall mount pattern meant some touch up painting was needed, but otherwise very easy to replace. Having the 3 longer screws for attaching each bracket to the wall made all the difference for having a solid bannister. The house is older, so the basement steps are fairly steep. The railing going downstairs has to support a lot of weight if a slip or fall would happen on the stairs. Overall very pleased with the brackets and would recommend.
