Onset’s HOBO MX1101 data logger measures and transmits temperature and relative humidity data wirelessly to mobile devices via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology. The self-contained wireless data logger, which works with Onset’s HOBOmobile app for logger setup and data management, enables you to access data anytime from mobile device for iOS or Android over a 100-foot range, and it requires no dedicated equipment beyond a mobile device for configuring the logger or reading out data. With Onset’s HOBOmobile app, you can view data in graphs, check the operational status of loggers, configure alarm notifications, and share data files. The logger can calculate minimum, maximum, average, and standard deviation statistics and be configured to trip audible or visual alarms at thresholds you specify. The MX1101 also supports burst logging in which data is logged at a different interval when sensor readings are above or below certain limits. This compact data logger also has a built-in LCD screen to display the current temperature, relative humidity, logging status, battery use, memory consumption, and more. SPECIFICATIONS: Temperature: Range: -20 to 70C (-4 to 158F), Accuracy: +/-0.21C from 0 to 50C (+/-0.38F from 32 to 122F). Relative Humidity: Range: 1 pct to 90 pct (non-condensing), Accuracy: +/-2 pct from 20 pct to 80 pct typical to a maximum of +/-4.5 pct including hysteresis at 25C (77F); below 20 pct and above 80 pct +/-6 pct typical. Memory: 128 KB (84,650 measurements, maximum). Battery Life: 1 year, typical with logging interval of 1 minute. Battery Type: Two AAA 1.5 V alkaline batteries, user replaceable. LCD: Visible from 0 to 50C (32 to 122F); the LCD may react slowly or go blank in temperatures outside this range. Size: 3.66 x 8.48 x 2.29 centimeters (1.44 x 3.34 x 0.9 inches.). I love how tiny this is and easy to use. Not made for a factory use where you cannot take your phone with you.

Seems to work as advertised so I am giving it 5 stars. Delivery deserves zero stars. It was dropped off at my place of business an hour after we closed. The hours are clearly marked. Our store is on a busy street and the sidewalk always has a lot of traffic. The only reason I can give this review is because I got a text letting me know it had been delivered. My wife jumped in the car and drove the 25 minutes back to the store so we would have it our next business day. I called and tried to explain the situation, but the person on the phone just couldn’t grasp what I was pissed about.

Setting the trending at 15 minutes the batteries are able to last a year. I bought ten and I am using them to sample temp and humidity for a building project build out.

Unit worked the day I received it. It didn't have the connectivity range of less expensive units I have, but it worked. Nice feature set on the device and the app. The next day I could not connect to the unit. Tried all the usual solutions (power cycled the MX1101 and phone, turned bluetooth off and on). Nothing worked. The unit would periodically show a strong connection signal, but it would quickly lose the signal. I could never get it to connect. While the app was trying to connect, it would periodically just shut down.Spent a lot of time on the phone with Mike at Onset tech support. Great guy. Confirmed that my phone (Moto G Gen 3), android version (6.0) and app version were all suitable / correct. We tried everything he could think of. Unit would not connect. His best guess was that the unit was defective. At that point all he could do was tell me to contact the seller.I contacted Tequipment (the seller) and a helpful person spent a few minutes collecting all my information. They were about to give me a RMA# when they suddenly realized that since my order had been fulfilled by Amazon they could not do anything for me. At that point I was told that I needed to contact Amazon.Amazon return process is pretty painless (if you don't count all the time you waste printing labels and driving to the post office). I sent it back and will not be ordering a replacement. I don't think the app or the MX1101 are ready for prime time just yet. There are other units that work well (albeit with fewer features) for about a third of the price. If the MX1101 had worked, it would have been worth the price I paid for it. But all the features in the world are worthless if you can't get your data when you need it.I could not recommend this unit to anyone.

I installed this in a server room rack to collect temperature and RH data. As the room is in a locked room behind keycard access control, I really wanted to be able to walk by and collect my data without having to enter the space.I've found that I can easily collect data over bluetooth to my smartphone through the door and walls at a distance of about 50 feet. In fact, there is a little bench down the hall where I can sit and grab my readings. So far, I've been collecting continuous data since May 25th (just over 1 month) and the datalogger memory is still not full (T, RH, Max, Min). The graphs produced are very nice and readable - suitable for presentation, and raw data can be downloaded in CSV and other useful formats. Share to SMS, email, etc. with a click. I have been very impressed with this unit's usability and data retention. Battery life is also excellent. The user app is top notch and easy to use. I have checked accuracy by placing this little logger into another server room with an expensive, dedicated monitoring unit and found excellent agreement between temp and RH values. Thus far, I have no criticisms of this logger. Excellent performance for the price.
