I bought this as some of the reviews had used it to break apart ground meat when cooking. I wanted something that wasn't plastic so thought I would give this a try. It's alright, but I notice it gets dirtier and is harder to clean than the basic plastic ones that I've used in the past. That said, it's a great potato masher which is what it's made for - so if that's your thing, definitely don't hesitate.

What really stood out to me when I purchased this are both the three sets of legs that support the masher, instead of the usual two, and the design of the masher itself. The three legged system allows for more support as you mash. The masher itself is a hybrid of the grid system, which takes a lot of force to move through the material being mashed, and the parallel rod type that takes far more up-and-down strokes to get get the same results mashing that same material. I’ve mashed potatoes, rutabagas and even hard boiled eggs (for egg salad). Each one mashed up quickly, the masher doubled as a whisk and it cleans up far easier than the grid style. This is both a great value and “best of the bunch”. I highly recommend it.

I had a potato masher tool previously that worked well but it was too large so I went with this one. Perfect size, good durability, and mashes potatoes well. I've even used it to mash up boiled eggs instead of tediously chopping them up for egg salad, much quicker and easier.

This truly is the world’s greatest potato masher/mixer. When I first removed it from the package I thought it wasn’t all that impressive and wouldn’t hold up and be difficult to clean. I couldn’t have been more wrong. This mixed up pancake batter like a dream and mashed sweet potatoes and Yukon gold potatoes with minimal effort from me. Cooking here can be from 2 to 16 people and it does remarkably well with the larger portions too. I know a mixer can be used, but we prefer hand mashed as we like to leave some small lumps of potatoes for texture. The first time I used it for 2 servings of potatoes the were creamy but spouse missed the texture. Clean up was a breeze, but know that I typically wash my cooking utensils right after use so nothing has a chance to dry on and make scrubbing it off harder than it needs to be. This is a gem that is used regularly in our kitchen and if it comes up missing I searching every household of our adult children until it shows up. Just to protect ours, think I may be purchasing one of each of them too since they love using mine when the help cook at our house.

Easy clean potato masher that I bought to replace my 20 year old gadget that finally expired. Dishwasher cleans it to sparkling perfection. It works well as a whip, when you want creamy potatoes or veg.
