Welder in Northern Alberta use them for the job good price and the silicone rather than getting fibreglass everywhere. Really good for radiator wrap. Haven’t lit one on fire yet. Only thing is I would go to the other size larger.

This is slippery and needs to be held in place with magnets or wire ties. I think it is better than a yellow fiberglass blanket.

I have two of these for a welding project on an old vehicle. One I have clipped into the door jamb of the vehicle to keep sparks out of the interior. The other is on the floor to catch grinding and welding sparks. I have an epoxy coated floor in my garage and want to avoid burning holes in it. I accidentally tipped an angle grinder over that was still spooling down and the cutoff disc didn’t cut all the way through the mesh, so it’s pretty sturdy!

Got this to primarily use to protect surfaces around me when welding, but also used it recently to protect an LVT floor below where I was sweating some copper pipes in a bathroom wall. It works great and I like the large size, my previous one I used with soldering was only a couple square feet in size.

It comes folded into a neat square, which like any tarp it will not return to once you unfold it. It's pretty straightforward otherwise. It's a bit slippery and although it keeps sparks and spatter off the floor, I wouldn't weld directly on top of it in a house. Cutting seems like it might be more hazardous, but the guy in the picture labeled "cutting" is actually stick welding, so maybe that's what they meant? Anyway, it does the part I expected it to just fine.

The Heavy Duty Welding Blanket, 6x8ft Silicone Coated Fiberglass Fire Blanket is an excellent investment for welders, metalworkers, and anyone working in environments with potential fire hazards. It provides great heat resistance, durability, and ample coverage, making it ideal for both professional and home use. While it has a few minor drawbacks in terms of flexibility and initial stiffness, the overall quality and protective performance make it a solid choice for anyone looking for a reliable welding blanket. If you need a robust, long-lasting option to protect your workspace or equipment from heat and sparks, this blanket is highly recommended.

I am learning to weld with a flux-core welder. I will probably need to set up a dedicated space/surface for this, but in the meantime I have been splattering hot burny bits onto two surfaces I do not want to ruin. So I got this. So far it has worked out very well. It has had a couple accidental exposures to very hot "just welded" things and come out well. Mostly it serves a "cant-burn" dropcloth for all the hot splatter and chipped-off flux. Roll it up and shake it out outside. I got the 4x6 which does the above quite well and is not too much to wield. Very satisfied.

Just when you thought there was no room for innovation with welding blankets, they gone and dipped one in naturally heat/cold resistance silicone. Wow! Silicone coated fiberglass is the way to go! No more fiberglass fibers floating around to breathe or get into your skin. Unless you just like that itchy scratchy feeling to go with your cough.Great size at 6ft by 8ft. Easy to hose it off between jobs and keep your work space clean. Has brass eyelets in case you need to hang/drape it as a curtain to divide work spaces.Overall, great piece of kit to take your welding station to the next level. Check back for updates on how this holds up to use, but seems like it'll last a long time.
