I would not necessarily call them "heavy duty" but they are solid fiberglass blankets as advertised. I expected them to be heavier, but they are not see-through by any means. The grommets are helpful for hanging them on the wall to shield from sparks. 2 blankets is useful for smaller applications, draping over a work surface or using in the corner on 2 walls. Definitely useful blankets. Good size for even throwing over a smoker when smoking meats to hold the heat in around the grill.

I've worked on a lot of heavy equipment over the years and these types of blankets are great to drape over fuel tanks, or painted areas, or cylinder shafts. Welders who use these aren't necessarily dropping molten metal on them daily, but instead using them as a shield for sparks, which they work great for.Pros: These blankets are much softer and more pliable than some I have used. The stitching looks pretty good and there are grommets in the corners. I have not tested them because it is winter now, but I'm certain they will do their job of catching the occasional spark (as I would use them). A lot of these types of blankets are really stiff and will shower shreds of fiberglass on you when you open them up. Not these, they are more like a heavy fabric.Cons: I am a bit concerned about how lightweight they are, but I will soon know if they are worth it.
