This is a review for the HDMI Audio Extractor 4k, HDMI to Optical Audio Adapter, HDMI Audio Splitter Converter with S/PDIF + 3.5mm AUX Output, Support 3 Audio Modes: it is a bit larger than I thought it would be, but it's great to split off the audio from your HDMI source to put into a receiver or other situation. It does require a power source via the usb, but shouldn't be that hard to connect and hide in an entertainment cabinet or the like. it's quick and easy to setup even for audio newbies, so a great solution for splitting sources.

Nice little HDMI audio extractor DAC. At first I was a little worried because there was noticeable hum coming through. But then I realized that I just needed to firmly push in the 3.5 mm plug into the jack. The whole box is quite small, and easily fits behind my CD player on top of the amp.

I'd been looking for a device like this to use with my monitor. It allows me to plug in a fire stick or other hdmi device to the monitor, while sending the sound to speakers or headphones. The device is compact and feels sturdy. My only improvements for this would be to move the usb-c port away from the hdmi a little bit, because it prevents you from being able to plug in a fire stick without an extension dongle. The only other issue I had was with the audio port. You have to push a little bit hard to make sure your cord is in all the way. At first I plugged my headphones in and there was no sound, but after playing with it, I realized they just weren't in all of the way, due to some resistance. After pushing it in all the way, it works great.

Used this device from a TV (HDMI) to an older Home Theater System (Digital Optical). Works well enough for me for this older setup. Make sure you have a USB-C cable that is long enough for your setup and USB wall adapter to ensure the device gets powered.

I don't know what everyone else would use this for, but for me it was to "strip" the audio out of the signal from a google chromecast device so I could immediately route that audio into an amplifier. From the HDMI output, I had a long-ish (25') HDMI run to a tv, and it just doesn't make sense to run an audio cable all the from the tv back to where the signal originated. Enter this device! Audio is working how I wanted it to, and there's one less cable to mess with. Perfect!

I was gifted a new sound bar for my living room, but found out quickly that my tv had no audio outputs at all! This solved that problem with 0 issues! Audio is perfect coming out of the speakers and there were plenty of options to choose from to connect them! Highly recommended!

This box comes in handy and is good for when you want to connect your gaming console or blu ray player to an external audio source like a soundbar directly and your tv doesn't support ARC for sending audio over HDMI cable.
