Not much good for anything heavier than a bike. It is still holding and be sure to tie off the slack end just in case the grip teeth comes loose.

These are the only game in town if you want to hang a bike from a single point. Single point blessing and curse is the bikes will tend to spin/wobble a bit when dropping or raising, which can be good for clearing something close by, or swinging into another bike or whatever close by. Biggest issue is this new batch (I have bought before) needs the rope to be almost horizontal with the pulley to release. Which is not easy with a ceiling mount. Previous units I bought wore out the ratchet mechanism in a year or two. These are much easier to mount and find a location that works than the two point pulley systems. I will buy again in spite of significant issues.

Great quality product. My only chief complaint is that my garage having a vaulted ceiling (14') and so when I installed this on the top beam it makes it pretty impossible to lower my bikes down due to the angle. I guess due to the "angle" of the rope to the teeth on the ratchet I'll have to figure out a way to modify the rope angle and see if that fixes my problem. I would say it would work wonderful for a standard enclosed garage.

This was used to hang a shop vac in garage. Product works as described and is well made. The rope is high quality, the locking cleat is spring loaded and works somewhat like a mountain climber's ascender device. The pulleys have stout pins and tight tolerances to keep the rope on the pulleys. As there is one traveling pulley, 20lbs is lifted with 10 lbs. of pull. This product is far better quality than the best double hanger system that I could identify for hanging a bike. The double hangar has the advantages of 4:1 as it has two traveling pulleys plus hoisted items won't spin, however the quality is nowhere near close to this single hangar. Reviews for various hanging systems indicate some have failed resulting in fallen items - this product does not include cleats for securely tying off the rope and that is an absolute must for safety.

Its sturdy, but with only one mounting hook, your bike is free to spin, mine keeps turning and hitting the garage door. I'm going to return it and find a two hook system.

This bike holder was easy to install onto a rafter; pulls the bike up quickly; and is easy and quick to bring down. After our last ride on a trail, my wife came back out to help me put things away and was surprised her bike was already up and stored out of the way. Solid product.

Pretty simple to install as long as you have basic tools (drills etc) and do some basic measuring to position correctly in your garage. Came with way more rope than in the order so will trim that back at some point. Easy to raise or lower the bike on your own - note when taking it off the ratchet to lower, make sure you either have gloves or have taken a turn of rope around your arm hand, or the weight of the bike will pull the rope through your hands fast and you'll get an uncontrolled descent and a rope burn. Quality looks good, but haven't given a 5 until I see how it performs over a few months - will revisit in the future.
