Great item. Look great and fit my Breedlove without modification. Love the 'screw free' locks. Very easy to use and there is no 'slop' in these machines. Guitar has stayed in tune since the second tuning after restringing! The image shows 5 machines installed and one of the original tuning machines for comparison.

These look identical to the stock Grover tuners on my 2006 LTD. The only difference is the locking post. Easy drop in upgrade. Don't know why some users find these tuners difficult to operate. They are a little different than the thumb wheel type locking tuners, but no harder to use. I have had no problem using .009 and .010 string sets. Turn the cap til it clicks, rotate the post so the hole is lined up, feed the string through the hole and pull tight and start tuning. The first few turns of the peg will lock the string and then it will start tuning the string. Easy Peasy. The tuning stability of my guitar is much improved. I have both types of locking tuners, thumb wheel and Grover type, and both work equally well. String changes are so much faster with locking tuners. No more guessing about how much slack to leave to get the desired wrap on the peg. Feed the string through the hole, pull it tight and tune. Excellent, repeatable results every time.

These tuners have a steep learning curve. Also will not accept string gauge above .042

I installed a set of these on my PRS SE this evening. They were indeed a drop-in fit with one exception: the black hold-down screws supplied with the tuners were too small in diameter to fit the existing holes, so I had to end up using the old chrome screws. A minor detail as they are only visible from the back side, but just be aware you could run into this problem when making such a swap out. Wish they would have been bigger as that would have completed the black-out look I was going for, but that’s life. Other than that minor detail, I love them already. Installed along with new strings and I can already tell the difference in holding tune even though the new strings will take a day or two to stretch out completely. If you’re drilling new screw holes, you’ll be 100% pleased with your purchase.

These tuners work well but they're not as easy to use as the older variety, where you strung the string, clamped the string using the thumbwheel, and brought it up to pitch.. here, you have to twist the upper part of the post till it clicks, rotate it till it faces down towards the guitar. The threading doesn't go quite straight through, there's a small bend. Also, you have to maintain steady but not ridiculous pressure holding the string in place, and God forbid you should disturb the position of the upper relative to lower parts of the post, because if you do, the string has to be removed and the process begun again. Then, when you finally do get to turning the machine, the upper part of the post doesn't spin for a good half-turn to full-turn, but the lower part does - this is how you know the lock has actually taken place. Once the string is locked it seems pretty secure and the locking works well. My advice is to find the old-style tuners with the thumbwheels or get Sperzels - they still make them that way, and while you have to drill those small pilot holes for the Sperzels, it makes up for the hassle of getting the process started.

Excellent tuners. Makes stringing and fine tuning your guitar a breeze. These tuners a very nice looking black nickel finish that really pops on an all black hardware setup.
