So happy for the ground to finally get soft enough to try this out! Great addition to my gardening tools. I’ve been eyeing different brands of this tool because every year I dread having to keep bending and ripping out roots or having to grab a shovel to get the harder roots and pulling out other plants nearby or too much soil. This is the perfect replacement for that. It does take out chunks of soil however, not nearly as much as I was ripping up with a shovel. The adjustable handle allows for ease of use and make weeding so much more easier! It does take a little bit of assembly when you first get it as it some in sections however, once it’s put together you can easily store it with the rest of the tools. It was easy to grab weeds out of softened ground. Looking forward to using it this spring and summer with harder weeds and amongst bark mulch.

It does the intended job, however I do not know how many seasons this will last. The handle is steel, the claw is cast steel. It is lightweight because the pole is made of plastic. Easy to put together, easy to use.

Sorry for out of focus picture - cell phone focused on the ground not the tool/weed. Weed shown was pulled up out of front lawn.Tool requires some minor assembly - screw together the three pieces of the handle. Then attach the step on piece to the base with the provided bolt, nut and the included two flat metal wrenches. Note: No assembly instructions provided with the tool but it's pretty obvious how it should go together.Tip 1: Would be faster to use an appropriately sized ratchet socket wrench.Tip 2: When assembling, make sure the fork tines on both sides of the puller tool meet up - I did not the first time I tightened the nuts and ended up with the tines intertwined - luckily I realized this before tightening the bolt/nut all the way otherwise might have damaged tool.Tip 3: Tighten down nut until snug but not "he-man" tight - want the mechanical closing part to be able to move freely and have the tines line up with each other properly.When using to pull weeds in a lawn, the tines will grab some of the surrounding grass and/or dirt. Depending on the size and maturity of the weed, it may not be necessary to force the tines down all the way. Took instructions say to possibly fill in hole with dirt/mulch.I pulled weeds from dirt areas and the tool will pull up a clump of dirt - can fill in some of it by knocking off some of the dirt from the roots of the weed. Digging up multiple weeds from the same dirt area may resemble the surface of the moon - might be better looking to smooth or fill in the holes.Did not step on the leaf puller as deep for younger weeds in dirt areas which results in shallower holes.
