This is a good, sharp sickle that is ideal for cutting weeds, tall grasses, and more.. It is not so effective on cutting thick stems and other woody materials. The tool makes weeding easy. It is a quality product that will last a long time.

Versatile, sturdy product that works efficiently. Is very sharp and helps to pull up the root of weeds quickly. Helps minimize time and effort spent weeding. Use with caution as this item is very sharp.

(Pictures are a before and after view. Took me about two hours to slice through all the weeds. The sickle is so helpful, I prefer it over a hoe.)This handheld scythe is a game-changer for small-scale gardening and yard maintenance. As someone who has struggled with heavy, bulky tools in the past, I was immediately impressed by the lightweight yet durable construction of this scythe. The sharp, precision-engineered blade slices through tall grass, weeds, and even small saplings with ease, making quick work of overgrown areas. The ergonomic handle provides a comfortable and secure grip, reducing hand fatigue even during extended use. I also appreciated the thoughtful design that allows the blade angle to be adjusted, enabling me to find the perfect cutting position for different tasks. The only potential downside I encountered is that prolonged use while standing can be a bit hard on the back, especially for those of us who don't have the strongest core muscles. However, this issue can be easily remedied by taking frequent breaks or working while seated, as the compact size of the scythe makes it well-suited for use from a seated position.Overall, I highly recommend this handheld scythe to anyone looking for an efficient, maneuverable tool to tackle overgrown areas in their garden or yard. Its performance, ergonomics, and versatility make it a valuable addition to any outdoor enthusiast's toolbox.

As with all things craft related in Japan, this is an exceptional garden tool. Perfect for hoeing between plants, paths, or other relatively root and stone free areas. It is especially good for cutting weeds in mulch, without disturbing the much! Lovely ergonomic handle, and a carbon steel blade that is hardened. Uses an axe stone to keep it sharp. (Not razor sharp, just not dull!)Pros: Well crafted. Excellent tool handle to cutting edge angle.Cons: Short for Westerners not accustomed to squatting or bending over. For closely spaced plantings it is a bit to long at 4⅞ inch blade length. Hard to weed between intensively spaced carrots, radishes, and turnips!(I am getting a second one to cut in half.)It performs better than any other tool I've had for post planting care of the beds!

Ok, first why would anybody make an amazing tool like this with a short handle! It's a back breaker for sure.... buuut, it gets the job done nicely. We have what I call a spider weed that's so ugly it's a long weed with a running root at times 2 ft long. This baby here allows you to break up the dirt and pull that weed up wo breaking it. The tool is sturdy, sharp but that short handle is puzzling. Feels balanced in hand and easy to use. A must for your flower beds bcuz of the small head! It's a keeper. Wish I could figure out how to change that handle.

I have been organic gardening for 50 years and this is by far the BEST tool I have ever used in the garden !!!would give this TEN stars if I could!! It has just enough weight that the tool does most of the work. It slices weeds down like butter and you can use it to chop and pull up large dandelions! I weeded a 12 ft X 5 feet section in about 30 minutes! with little effort! You can use it with a slight swing to the left or just pull back. Hardly any pressure is needed as the edge is sharp but not sharp enough to cut your hand! Terrific invention! It actually makes weeding FUN as it is so easy and everything looks so great after! Try one and you won't be sorry!

This is sickle is so sharp! I was able to weed my garden and cut through roots to till the soil. I can use the point to pull out weeds, use it as an edger, and chop right through the surface roots. It is lightweight and easy to maneuver. The handle is lightweight. I was worried that I was going to break the head but it withstood all the work and is very sturdy.
