These are great. I hear these drop straight into a Fender Tele. On a Squier Tele I had to enlarge the post holes on the headstock to get the Gotoh ferrules to fit (the existing Squier ferrules were too small for the Gotoh posts, so couldn’t be left in place). I stupidly caused some damage to the guitar using a 3/8 drill bit for this on the first hole. I worked out that you need to use a slightly smaller 11/32 bit, which isn’t a common size.I used the existing screw holes on the back of the head, no problem.

These fit perfectly on my 2001 Eric Clapton Stratocaster without any drilling or modifications. The old tuners were losing stability, and I realized I didn't like having a guitar without locking tuners after I broke a string at a show and it took longer than I wanted to replace it. Great product.

These Vintage-Style Locking tuners fit my Fender 1957 re-issue. They have the locking buttons in the back, which adds a little more weight to the neck, but the good news is that they fit most Fender American Vintage II Reissue guitars with no need to drill the headstock. Their tuning stability is supreme for their category, as they normally get installed on guitars which have NO locking nut. Also, they are staggered which adds stability to the string's angle on strings 1, 2 and 3.

These locking tuners fit perfectly on my Fender Custom Shop Thinline Telecaster and much better quality than the factory ones

If you have vintage gotoh split peg tuners, these will just drop in to existing holes. I had the vintage gotoh tuners on my new tele clone and decided to get these locking tuners instead. I older vintage split top tuners are really not bad at all, really easy to get those spooled up cleanly but all my guitars have locking tuners and decided to get these as they're even simpler. I still leave 2-3 winds on each tuner as i think it gives it a bit more stability and seems to stay in tune longer then just clipping the string short with like barely a half or quarter of string on the peg. These tuners look staggered like 3 look a few mm taller then the other three, with the shorter 3 having green dots on the bottom. They do make other staggered versions with 3 different heights, so buy according to your needs. When installing the shorter pegs go closer to the top of the headstock, where the longer ones are closer to the nut. Took me about less then 15 minutes to unscrew small phillips screws, and just popping out the vintage tuners and popping in the new tuners and rescrewing in with existing screws. So basically i have a used/new set of vintage tuners i can either sell as all the hardware that comes with this kit can be sold with the vintage tuners to install. So overall if you can sell them even at a discount will make this a great deal and 5 star quality.

I went with these because the vintage tuners on the new strat I got were terrible. Don't know why all modern guitars don't come with locking tuners. These were a quick drop in as I didn't want to drill new holes. The design is terrible as it's just a single wood screw that holds in two tuners and there is no nut on top. I get that Gotoh is playing the hand dealt on the vintage installation method.

A great alternate to the less than stellar tuning keys that are common to the "vintage" type of Fender guitars. Great tuning stability and I love what locking tuners do for action and playability. 10/10. Great product.
