For anyone trying to solve light bar whistle, this works great. I used 5 of the giant heavy duty zip ties from harbor freight that are like 24 inches long, 2 on each side and one in the middle, and it got rid of all of the sound. it's not as wide as the 50 inch light bar, but it still did the trick perfectly!

Works as described. Not the biggest deflector, but that's what i needed. Will minimize the noise if you adjust the angle the right way.

Recently got some cross bars for my moms SUV, and while they work great, we immediately noticed a pretty loud wind noise whenever you go above ~45mph. It's not a huge deal, but since it's one of those universal sets, putting it on and taking it off is a bit of a pain, so I wanted to try some wind deflectors first. I grabbed these, as they seemed like they'd fit. First impressions is they seem to be made of a decent thickness metal, so it has a bit of weight to it. The hose clamps it comes with, however, are not fantastic. One of the three stripped out immediately, and I had to toss, and while one of them tightened up just fine, the other had some issues when it got tight. I ended up just replacing all three with some nicer ones I have in my shop.Once I put the defector up by the cross bar, I realized that in the intended position, it doesn't actually fit. Due to the crossbar feet, part of the deflector interferes. It's a relatively easy fix if you have some pliers or just want to cut the spot that binds, but definitely note that if the feet/mounts for your cross bars are anywhere within the 39.4" of the item length, you'll need to alter the deflector.Regardless, once I adjusted it, we went on a test ride, and compared to NOT having the deflector on it, it's noticeably quieter. It's not a DRASTIC difference, but it seems to not be as audible at a slightly higher speed (from 45mph to about 50). I'll let my mom use it a bit more, and if she's happy with it, I'll keep it as is, but if it still bothers her, I'll just have to deal with pulling the crossbars on and off.

I installed a full-size ladder rack on my Chevy Silverado and immediately ordered this item because I have had truck racks before. Before I installed this, the wind noise from the rack started getting bad around 55mph and was very loud at 65mph. At 70mph it was loud enough to hurt my ears. After installing this wind deflector on the front bar the wind noise is barely audible. It was a quick, easy install and well worth the price.

Save your money and read this. Tried at angle I thought looked right it stopped harmonic vibration but no quieter then read directions and set to recommendation harmonics came back and even louder, so I took it off and instead wrapped the front bar with 3/8” roped in a spiral across the truck then wrapped it with wide electrical tape noise and harmonics both all but gone and then i wrapped a 3/8” wide fuzzy felt for sealing window air conditioners in the window across in a spiral in the opposite direction and now don’t even know I have a rack until around 80 mph.
