This was easy to install to new wooden post, a couple of wood screws and it's done. Best thing the mailbox snaps onto this platform. Made it very easy for this elderly lady to install new mailbox. It also looks nice.

Worked perfect and is holding up with no problems thru numerous STRONG storms!! Right across the street from the Pacific ocean too so... it's holding up just fine.

I had to work a bit to make it fit the metal squared pole we have--drilling and mounting. The pole was not 4" square so the mounting board didn't fit easily. But when I did get in mounted the mailbox snapped right on.

I ordered this along with a new , attached it right to the bare top of the 4x4" post my old mailbox had been haphazardly screwed to, and snapped the new mailbox on.This mounting bracket is a very nice accessory; plenty of well-spaced screw holes (so long screws didn't hit one another from opposite sides of the post) which you have easy access to (not being inside or underneath a mailbox), sturdy Rubbermaid plastic I expect to be durable and long-lasting, and literally designed to perfectly fit the matching line of mailboxes. If someone ever decides to come at my mailbox with a baseball bat (or equivalent), I expect the Rubbermaid mailbox to survive and then to snap right back on this bracket without a fuss; the pins seem to have been designed with that in mind. (I will update this review if that ever happens, and report the results.)

fits a standard 4x4 post; mailbox snaps to it easily. can be redone, but you're better off getting it right the first time.

Save yourself some time and headache and just buy or order this bracket if you choose the Rubbermaid Mailbox, Large or Medium.Mounts easily to either a 4x4 post or a horizontal 2x4 or 4x4 cap over the post (as long or a bit longer than the bracket is best). Just remember to secure this mounting bracket onto the wood first before snapping the mailbox onto it as it is difficult to pull the two apart afterwards! (but doable). Make placing/securing the mailbox to the bracket the last thing you do! This is a great product for a most practical and durable mailbox and not worth doing without.This makes mounting the mailbox a "snap"
