Very sturdy. Looks like 16ga sheetmetal, so will hold up to whatever the snowplow throws at it. The door stays in place when closed. The size is good for most of my packages. Nice flag, with plastic washers to provide friction for whatever position you put it in.

This replaced one of the standard thin metal mailboxes that started to rust near the “hinge” area. I hate the cheap plastic mailboxes so was only looking at metal. This is far superior in every way and looks like it will last forever. The metal is a thick gauge and the mailbox could easily be sanded and repainted if needed in a few years. This is all heavy steel. I paid full price and received no discounts for this review.

Very strong mailbox. Great size being not too large, but a little bigger then the standard common mailbox. Door closes with a magnet latch. For the price they should have included nicer hardware to attach the flag. It's just 2 tiny bolts with nylon locking nuts and washers. Attaching it to a 4x4 base appears purposely designed to be difficult. The holes are wider than a 4x4 is and that is just wider. They want you to either buy their pointless base which can attach to their accessory post or you can add another piece of flat wood to transition between attaching the mailbox and attaching the wood to the 4x4. Again for the price they should just give you options. I didn't want to drill new holes and then need to paint them to prevent rust on a brand new mailbox. Cut a 6x1 down to fit the base and attached that to the 4x4 base.

Just bought our remodeled home and the builders installed the cheapest mailbox possible. I was tired of my mailbox door popping open from the wind and decided to invest in a serious upgrade. I saw this one at the hardware store and it is heavy duty with a simple magnetic latch. Amazon of course had it about $20 cheaper.Large is a bit of a deceptive description as from my measurements compared to my old box, this one is about one inch wider and one inch taller. So yes, it is bigger but it looks like a standard size mailbox to the naked eye.The main reason to get this tank of a letter container is because you’ve got bored neighborhood kids that think mailbox baseball is productive to society and you want to ruin their plans! Seriously this is a great upgrade to any standard box. No more friction latch, or plastic degradation. Just a solid, sleek, strong box! Installation was the same as a standard box.It’s pricey, but like they say, buy once cry once!

This mailbox is so sturdy and the metal is heavy duty. Definitely built to last. The magnetic door closure works great and is nice to have. The box is quite large, and cane fit some packages inside. All of the hardware is included. It looks modern, and classy.

I did a lot of searching on Amazon, and decided that this is the mailbox for me. I get a lot of small and medium packages, and they will fit safely inside (and out of sight). We get a lot of snow and ice here, and I'm confident this mailbox can hold up. I especially like the door handle and magnetic closure. It's heavy, but once it's installed, who really cares?My only complaint is that the mounting plate and screws were not included. (C'mon, guys - really?) On the other hand, I now have a functional red flag, and the best looking mailbox in the neighborhood.

This is very nice quality, heavier, metal I love that the magnetic latch holds it shut. I love that there is a lip that overlaps the door for rain runoff I paired it with 2 inch reflective numbers and I used my own post I hesitated because it was more expensive than others but now I am very happy that I made this purchase
