Used this tool for opening my dirt bike primary gear nut that was torqued at 160nm, worked great and allowed me to open it easily.Only downside is that the magnet fell out of it and got stack in between the gears, but the magnet wasn't really required

This is a great little tool. It’s specifically designed to lock two gears together, temporarily. There are a multitude of options to do this similar task. But, it’s much easier to use ‘the right tool for the job’.

What a great little tool, I was rebuilding my dirt bike engine and there is now way I could have finished it with out this little gear jammer. Do yourself a favor and get one, you won't be dissapointed.

Do any work on or around anything connected to gears? Drive chains, clutch, transmission, etc.?? If so, you might really want to consider a little tool like this! You basically put it in the gears that you don't want moving while your torqueing on whatever part is connected to those gears. This way you don't get pinched fingers and can actually do whatever it is you need to do without the parts moving around. This little guy is small, but sufficient for most bikes. It's a nice blue color so it stands out from other things in your garage. It also has a handy little magnet on the one side as well plus a little loop for hanging it up or pulling it out. I'm glad I got this tool and think it is worth it for the price.

This tiny little tool is very useful to any serious MC mechanic. It can be used as advertised to lock gears into place during rebuilding. But it can also be used for jamming the drive chain at either primary or secondary sprocket while tightening rear axle nuts after moving the rear wheel in aid of chain adjustment and keeping the wheel and chain in alignment. It even has a powerful magnet to keep it in place. Tiny and inexpensive, but very handy and practical.

I've found this gear jammer to work the same as the name-brand gear jammer, but at a lower price. The magnet keeps it in place. The thing to remember is that this tool aids in keeping your motor or gears from rotating, but don't use it alone when applying torque. (The more torque you apply, the greater the potential for damage to the tool and/or gears.) Use this in conjunction with a clutch or flywheel holder tool. Personally, I've been able to get by without a gear jammer, but at only around $10, the convenience this product provides is well worth the cost.
