I installed the SIM as soon as I landed in Shanghai, and it started working right away. Throughout my time there, the internet only went down once when I switched back from a Wi-Fi connection. I simply reset the cellular data option, and the SIM worked again without any issues. No complaints.

Landed in Shanghai and phone showed China Unicom but no data connection. Default APN was set as “RESELLER”, which has to be modified to “mobile” otherwise it would not work in China.

I did not read the fine print when I bought a physical sim-card for my iphone 11 pro when traveling to China. It did not work.I was able to reach out the customer service with email, then via whatsapp. Jeff helped me through the process of switching from physical sim card to eSim for my iphone 11. Then the data worked great in China. I have had excellent mobile data service across several major big cities in China. I could access gmail, whatsapp, youtube, etc...If you have a compatible phone, you can go with physical sim-card; if you have a newer iphone, eSIM works great.I highly recommend "Happy China Sim Card" for their customer service and data quality.

Good product, easy to use! We used this card in our Hong Kong trip. After we got to the Hongkong airport and put this SIM in my phone, it just worked! Warning: no esim option so you have to use a phone where you can put a physical SIM in.

Once I arrived in China, I swapped this SIM card with the US SIM card in my phone, and the phone easily found the carrier signal once turned on. I went to three cities on the trip, Beijing, Haikou and Hong Kong, and I encountered no connection issues. In the SIM card instruction or maybe on the product page on Amazon, it mentioned somewhere that real name registration is required in Hong Kong prior to arrival. I tried to do that, but the website asked for a phone number or a data storage card number. Since this is a data only SIM, the number format did not match anything on my phone, so I did not complete the registration process. Nonetheless, the SIM card worked just fine in Hong Kong without registration. All the data rate came at 4G. I could access all my US social media app and news sites, and I could do Facetime with people in US. The only time I ran into a problem was at a local restaurant, where I needed to scan a QR code to access the menu and make the order. I just could not open their site using the QR code. I think the reason was due the default search engine setting in my phone web browser. I am guessing the restaurant was not listed under Google or Bing. If had changed the search engine to a local Chinese one, it may have worked. I did not get to test it because my local friends made the order using their phone. One other word of caution is that this is a data only SIM without a local phone number. Establishing a Chinese mobile payment account (Alipay or We Chat) and making mobile payment will be difficult because real time verification with a local phone number is necessary.

Travel dates Oct. 21 - Nov. 4. Galaxy S21 FE Phone. Switched out my US sim card for this sim before landing in Hong Kong. Once landed, turned on my phone. Waited a couple of minutes for the sim card to register and it worked perfectly. A few days later traveled over to Shenzhen and did not have to reboot or re-register the sim. It continued to work perfectly from there up to Shanghai.
