The humming noise stopped my dogs from getting even close to the thing. And I thought it would launch the ball much further.Had to return bc it did not work out until my dogs.

My dog got the hang of it almost immediately and he was excitedly dropping his ball in, but within a few minutes the launch distance dropped to maybe 5 feet. It turns out the ball must be dry every single time or it just slips on the wheels and doesn’t work. I don’t know how to teach my dog to completely dry a ball before putting it in the launcher. He isn’t a big slobberer, but his mouth is not dry. After maybe 30 minutes, it wasn’t launching at all. The next problem was the warning beep, which only worked for a short time, then intermittently.I am so incredibly disappointed. I was eagerly awaiting this launcher because I have thrown my shoulder out and desperately needed an alternative for my very active pup. I haven’t had this thing even 24 hours, but it is now back in the box so I can send it back.

First off, this is loud. My dog is sensitive to noises so it took a bit of positive reinforcement for him to come near it while it's on. Once he realized that it shoots balls though, he got over the noise factor pretty quickly.I don't think I'd use this outside, it doesn't shoot too far. Maybe 15 feet? I can throw the ball a bit further outside with less effort, but it's fun for using inside on a rainy day.My dog is 80lbs and it's a good size for him, it works best with standard tennis balls, but will also throw our stuff chewer plastic balls which are the same size as a tennis ball, it just doesn't beep with those.Overall, I'd buy again

The machine itself works just as it should! It is easy to use - you or the pup are simply supposed to put the ball in the top "hopper" & it shoots it out. It has "legs" underneath so you can adjust the pitch of the throw. It is louder but not obnoxious, totally tolerable! My 1 year old dog is OBSESSSED with playing ball so we bought this hoping he would learn to play ball with himself after we are done for the day (because he is NEVER done!). Sadly, he doesn't feel he should be the one to put the ball back into the hopper for a new pitch & feels he is above that & that his humans should serve him. Good product for normal dogs, not ones like my entitled boy lol.

I was a little concerned reading the reviews, but I’m so happy I got it. It works great!! Like some of the other reviews mentioned when the balls get wet they don’t shoot as far. It takes regular tennis balls and standard size Kong tennis balls. My dog likes the kong better and even when they stop shooting far he’s still just as excited. It does make noise but we use it outside so it never bothers me. It take 8 D batteries if you don’t want to plug it in. We have been running it for 3 weeks and they still work. I purchased rechargeable batteries but haven’t tried them yet. I would definitely purchase it again
