Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact. Dedicated lens hoods are designed to match the specific focal length of the lens it was designed for.

I get it. It's obvious that this is a EF to NEX converter. It is however what I was sent when I ordered a lens hood for my hassy 50mm distagon. Return window closed before I was able to travel 40 minutes to a UPS store during business hours. Complete waste.

Buonissima fattura. Io lo uso sul 80 mm perché quando mi porto in giro la fotocamera, è più compatta rispetto al paraluce “normale” per l’80mm.Consigliato.

Works well from the wider lenses to up to 80mm Planar. It's well built and sturdy. I am very happy with it.

Unbelieveably poor quality. I have no problem with plastic or third-party lenses or acessories. In fact, I've worked on a lot of vintage gear that use plastic. It can be a useful material if designed properly and with the right properties of density, tensile strength, flex, hardness etc. for the application. But there is good plastic and bad plastic. This lens hood is bad plastic. Really bad plastic. That's really all you really need to know. It's light, brittle, not dense, and the scrap steel ring (that acts as a spring to hold the hood against the filter ring) actually scratches paint off my hasselblad lens. Also, the plastic isn't even black. It's a white plastic body that's been covered with some black coating. The black coating even rubs off and leaves residue on the fingers. They couldn't even be bothered to use an injection-molded true black plastic. For a lens hood, you might think -hey it's plastic, how bad can it be? For $16 you think they'd be able to at least match the quality of other name brand hoods. But you'd be wrong. Even a plastic lens hood from canon, sony, or sigma doesnt come close to this Fotodiox replacement. It's actually worse. Much, much worse. It's worse than the plastic used in any other product I own in the house. Even my generic tv remote controls are more durable and at least they are injection molded, colored all the way through, and isn't leaving residue around.I have ordered fotodiox before, and for certain things, I don't mind. But I was wrong thinking a lens hood couldn't be this bad. Not only will I not even put this on my hasselblad. It makes me thankful my consumer canon and sony lenses and hoods are as durable as they are. Nevermind my Hasselblad or Canon L lenses. Stay far away. I am returning this the same day I got it.

Practically a clone of an original- Is plastic instead of metal but it does mount properly to the lens and does it’s job.

Pagato più di 30 euro per vedere dopo pochi giorni lo stesso prodotto a metà del prezzo. Sinceramente mi sento preso in giro, per un paraluce compatibile in plastica di mediocre fattura.
