Works perfectly. The only strangeness: it doesn’t lock in place in storage mode. (Works and latches perfectly when put in use.)

It's fine. Doesn't lock in the active position, and doesn't fully engage in the storage position (attachment rails are too thick)I requested a replacement, but that actually fit worse than the original. Not worth going back and forth, so I'm keeping the first one and might try to shave it down to fit better.

Fit perfectly! Can't go wrong for $10! Or you can pay $45 for the Nikon version. They look and function identically.
