I like to use the K&F magnetic filter system, as I have arthritis in my thumb joints and it makes it harder to remove filters when needed. Sadly, this hood won't fit with a magnetic adapter and single filter on the lens. It's just barely too short. I can only use a single threaded filter with it, which means if I want to stack filters (which is something I tend to do, or if I have a UV installed and want to quickly put on a CP filter) I have to remove the hood and shoot without it. I like that it's metal, but the cap is plastic and a little tricky to get back on at times. So, I'd say it depends on your use case. If you're just shooting street and don't use filters, it may be perfect for you. If you want more versatility, then the factory hood—or no hood—may be your best bet.

Got this to replace the original for my Fuji 18-55. Nice snug fit that won't fall off.

Compact and strong. I was a little concerned about the screws to attach but not a concern. Easy to install.

I wanted something to make the 27mm look nice and provide protection when I don't mind the bulk. Money well spent.

Simple solution to a one out original hood. Made well and no-brainer.

Build quality is great (anodized aluminum except for the mounting "ring" which is plastic inside the hood). Can't compare to the Fujifilm version as I don't have it, but this is a solid hood. Performs better and is more durable than the stock hoods for both lenses (there's a Youtube video that compares the stock hoods with this one). Lens cap has a nice soft faux-leather finish which is nice. Lens cap fits securely in front of this hood whereas the Fujifilm version has a known defect of the lens cap fitting loosely. Some customers might frown on the use of plastic for the hood mounting interface, but I believe this is an intentional design decision to prevent wear on the lens when mounting.Only con here is the JJC branding on the hood, but stamping your company name on everything seems to be par for the course for camera and camera accessory manufacturers.

When it comes to purchasing camera equipment I hardly, if ever, purchase new. And sometimes when you are snagging the best deal, there might be an accessory or two that is missing--in this case, it was the lens hood for the XF 23 1.2. I had tried out the plastic one before, but I never really liked the way it handled, or sometimes how it would catch dust in a crosswind. Either way, I considered the more square lens hood by Fujifilm, but was shocked for the price. This item is still solidly made (all aluminum), fits perfectly on the lens bayonets, and is painted to match the lens. While I do not have the Fujifilm version to compare it to, I could not see the difference in quality being too far apart. For half the cost, it does the job and looks great--what really is there more to ask for?Oh, and as some other reviewers mentioned, there can be an issue with some lens filters. I was able to get it to fit over the B+W MRC Nano no problem, but I could see a larger ND filter not quite fitting behind the hood. Just something to consider!

I have outfitted my 16mm, 23mm and 56mm lenses with JJC square hoods and they are absolutely top-notch in quality. They're black anodized aluminum and match the lenses perfectly. A plastic shim in the bayonet mount prevents marring your lens when mounting/unmounting and they come with a plastic slide-on lens cap. It stays put when carrying your camera out and about no problem; though with constant use the click action doesn't weaken a bit over time (it would be great if they were available separately). They look fantastic on the lenses; much more refined and matching, smaller in size and more robust over stock hoods. Finally, there's the performance - no vignetting and plenty of protection from stray light. I can't recommend these highly enough.
