- #32 in Camera Lens Hoods
This Fotasy Metal Lens Hood can be screwed on lens or filte readily. The construction is solid and does not damage the thread on the lens. The 46mm Screw-in Lens Hood fits lens with 46mm filter diameter only. Please verify your lens thread size / filter diameter before ordering. Lens thread size will be marked somewhere on the lens barrel or printed underneath your lens cap. This number is always preceded by a "Ø" (diameter) symbol. For example: Ø46 = 46mm lens thread size.

Fits perfectly. These are my favorite lens shades as they effectively block stray light and are less obtrusive than the huge tulip shades that frequently come with the lenses. They fit the stock lens cap and filters as well so there is no need to purchase new lens covers and filters. I also don’t worry about trashing one of these vs, the $60 OEM plastic lens shades. I can have a few extras around the house just in case, but these put up with more abuse than the OEM plastic shades.

Fotasy makes great photography accessories at a excellent price. I have never had an issue with any of their products. The lens hood and cap fit perfectly.

This little thing has been a champ for me. I especially love the cap that came with it. The only issue is when I shoot wide it causes minor vignetting. If you're shooting anything above 16mm you should be fine though.I was genuinely impressed by the quality when taking the price into consideration. Would likely purchase more from this company.

I purchased a TTArtisans 100mm f/2.8 bubble bokeh lens...which does not come with a lens hood. Wide open I was losing contrast which was expected, but if I used my hand as a shield, I could get a bit more...just a bit. That is just the behavior of this particular lens. It's a 49mm thread, while I don't have any other lenses with that filter size...I just happened to have one the right size lying around in a box. It worked like a charm...but it is scalloped fairly wide, so I did not think I was getting much functionality out of it. Usually a wide hood indicates it is meant for a wide angle lens...so a no go for my 100mm lens.Ordered this little gem up...and it is QUITE a bit narrower in the front...which means more flare control. Not crazy about the openings in the back of the hood...but it is not letting light platter in so it's okay...I suspect it is cut that way for looks. It's also another path for dust to get on your front element...still...no biggie. I don't think it detracts enough to ding it a star. I'm careful with my gear no matter what kind of hood I have on the lens. It's a great little lens hood, and is narrow enough to reduce flaring.

Quality is not what I expected. Lens cap is squeaky, lens hood is very rough

This lens hood is excellent quality. Smooth thread onto the lens with Hoya UV filter. There are no sharp edges. The lens cap provided is excellent and fits better than the original Fuji cap on my Xf23mm lens.Yes the UV filter + lens hood + hood cap will almost double the length of the naked lens But a little perspective for the protection and functionality it’s worth it.Highly recommended.

Classic design and acceptable functionality. It fits on my Fuji 27mm lens just fine. The only thing I would have liked would be if the lens cap fit inside of the hood so that I could cap it when not in use, but alas, the inner diameter is just a little too small. The cap will fit on there, but it's wedged so good that it's a pain to take off (and may even come off unexpectedly) so I'd rather not chance it. Outdoor shooting in anything but direct sunlight does experience increased contrast over a bare lens (and I don't have to shield with my hand, so my non-stabilized shots are acceptibly free of blur). It seems like a very durable metal. I'm not rough with my gear, so I don't expect to ever come close to breaking it though. There were other choices I could have gone with, but none of them give the please look of the classic film body with vented lens. My X-T10 and XF27mm deserved this over some anonymous looking hood.

I bought a Sony full-frame point and shoot camera, which did not include a hood. I chose to buy this product for $7 instead of the $180 Sony version, which is very similar. As luck would have it, I accidentally dropped the camera on an asphalt parking lot, and it landed lens-first on the pavement. The lens hood collapsed, absorbing the impact of the drop. See the photo for proof! This product is lightweight, but sturdy when used as intended. It works perfectly to reduce flare and increase contrast. As an unexpected bonus it saved my $3.000 camera, too. I'm a klutz, so just bought two more for the next time(s) I drop it. Highly recommended.

I bought a new and it didn't include a hood. Amazon was out of stock of the OEM hood and, at $35, it was silly expensive anyway. I own several Rainbow Imaging and BlueCell hoods, and they were excellent, so I figured buying the 37mm version was a safe bet. Indeed I received a lot of quality for only 7 bucks: excellent fit and finish, sturdy metal construction, no vignette problems and a handsome product. Unlike some designs, this one doesn't taper or flare towards the end but, instead, the is a consistent diameter. My new lens is now protected from fingerprints, doggie noses, raindrops and stray light. Plus, it looks like it's wearing a goth miniskirt!01/18/2014 Update: I finally got a chance to try this hood on my and it works great as well: no vignette problem wide open and looks OEM. If you shoot with the 17mm f/2.8 and 45mm/f1.8 you only need to carry one hood!
