Works well but remember to get a dry box for your drill.

Works ok. For the price i wish there would be a holding bracket or something adapted to clamp down. You need to hold it by hand and cand really look forward since your using both hads to hold it in place. Also its hard to steer the boat with this. Need a second person to navigate. I will probably modify mine and have a picture to try and help others. If your by yourself it may not be a good solution

I have a 14ft aluminum row boat and this was able to push me fast enough to beach the boat and walk straight out onto dry land, something I wasn't able to do using oars. Use caution in reverse, the pull at slow speeds can lure you into not holding on hard enough, just about yanked itself out of my hands .

I use this in my Cumberland float tube. The most important thing to factor into this is a good drill and batteries. I have a 20v Dewalt drill I use with the drill paddle. It came with 1.5AH batteries and you can get 15-20 mins use out of them. I bought 2 6AH batteries and with those I can use the drill paddle for hours. Just make sure not to use the drill constantly, it will ruin your drill, give the drill breaks to cool down. The Dewalt drill/2 1.5AH batteries and charger was $99. The 2 6AH batteries were $190 and the drill paddle was $50 when I bought it, so all together I’m into it $339. My justification was I can always use a nice drill/batteries for around the house. So to sum this up it’s a great buy but if you want to use the thing for more than 15-20 mins get bigger AH batteries.

I was skeptical of this when I first got it but it’s surprisingly useful. Not good for consistent use but for getting from point a to point b or moving from spot to spot on a small fishing lake works great. I also have multiple drills and batteries I use for work including a 9 and 12 amp hour battery. It’s hard to steer in a kayak. The speed is that of a consistent paddle. I bought 2 to use in a canoe I have yet to try that. In a kayak it works well especially being light weight and sleek to stash away while not in use.

Works great with my 18v cordless drill. We took three batteries and used all three during our annual river float in Reedley, CA. The torque from this device moved our raft away from danger with ease - and it was envious of all river goers! It’s nice to operate with a drill that has variable speed and a reverse! This way, with a switch of the button you are pushing vs. pulling!! Worked GREAT!! It was also nice to have something unattached as you never know what direction is forward at any given time during a river float. We recommend using only when needed because it can make the drill hot when used constantly. The noise from the drill is a bit annoying, defiantly worth the $50 bucks! Enjoy!!
