I think I expected this would be a lot longer when fully expanded. I should have looked at a measuring tape. To be fair, they do say it's an emergency/backup paddle. This shouldn't be used as your main paddle, especially if you are a paddleboarder and/or you are tall. It's handy to store on your kayak, rowboat, or paddleboard in case you lose your oar/paddle and can't get back to land otherwise, but I was hoping I could just use it as my main paddle and it would take up less space as my normal paddle. Oh well, I'll keep it strapped to my board as a backup/just in case. It's compact and lightweight and well designed, just wish it was longer.

I ordered this paddle to keep on a jet ski in case it stops running and I need to get to shore and out of the way of other boat traffic. It is perfect for this purpose. It gets small enough to fit in the small storage compartment but extends long enough to reach the water when sitting on the ski. I jet ski on a very busy lake and this paddle is just what I need to get out of the way of larger boats until I can get help. It is light weight so it is easy to paddle. It extends and compresses easily with very little effort and the bright color is nice to help make me more visible to other watercraft. This is a really good piece of emergency equipment to have on board!

This paddle is solid and collapsible making a perfect combination of compact/usable.In Idaho all boats over a certain size ate required to have a paddle for emergency use incase the main form of transport fails. Currently we only had one, but this enables a second side paddle with no large storage cost. The collapse/expansion function is easy to do.The plastic oar/paddle is solid and neon green for added visibility, making it dual function.Considering purchasing a second!

I ordered the Abahub premium 21”-42” emergency telescoping paddle with aluminum shaft to use with my 12-foot aluminum fishing boat I keep at my mountain cabin and use at the nearby lake. I have a small electric trolling motor and a pair of old-fashioned wooden oars that I would like to avoid taking in the boat due to their size and ordered this emergency oar to replace them. This oar is more robust than I expected and is very compact until you twist and extend the paddle and then lock the paddle tight. Since it is the middle of winter I won’t be able to get to my cabin and use the boat on the frozen lake so I will update the review later if the paddle does not perform as expected.

The light green emergency paddle measures about 21½ inches when fully collapsed and approximately 42½ inches when I fully extend it. It includes a T-grip that I can push in until it snaps into place. According to the manual, the paddle can float, but I’ve never tested this out of fear I’d lose it. It’s a lightweight paddle made of aluminum and plastic, though I plan to use it only for emergencies. A twist-and-lock mechanism keeps the paddle securely extended.

This is a great paddle. It is well made and high quality. The locking mechanisms between sections work very well and hold tight. It goes from very small and compact for easy storage to a legit, usable paddle. I am using this to replace a short wooden paddle on my bass boat that is pretty useless. Great paddle that stores easy but can rally help in a pinch.

I'm glad I won't be using this for regular paddling, however it will live on the deck of my kayak just in case. For it's size it feels heavy to me, though that weight does come with a good sense of durability too. It has one purpose and that's to get me to my other paddle should we become separated and I have every confidence it will work for that purpose, an important piece of safety gear too many people skip. I hope I never have to use it (though I will do some practicing of pulling it out and getting underway with it) but as they saying goes; better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

I love this paddle! I bought it for tubing down the Salt River here in Arizona. The currents are unpredictable and can send you into weeds and/or rocks constantly, so I take this with and steer myself clear of obstacles, including other tubers. It’s great and put up with a lot of scraping against rocks. Definitely worth the price!
