It is telescopic with two telescopic poles you twist to lock I really like it. I’ve also used it to push off of the dock. It works great.

Hopefully will never need it. I have two. These are back up to gas motor only. Stores easily and appear and feels well built. Seems quality.

Sucked up a rope so I had to paddle in a strong current to get to shore. This paddle broke, the only time I used it. Won't buy again.

It is really small when collapsed. And long enough for proper use when fully extended.

I keep this in my pontoon seaplane. Light, compact, but extends to a useful length and the hook is really handy to snag a dock

This paddle supposedly extends by twisting three separate pieces, extending those pieces and retwisting them together to lock them. I am 6'1" and 250 lbs and I could not separate the sections until I put gloves on and twisted with all my might. Then one of the sections totally came apart and would not go back together. I bought this paddle 3 weeks ago and it broke yesterday while preparing my boat to go out. So I did not have the box or paperwork that it came with. Know that in order to return it, you need to package it yourself before taking it to a return center. If you don't then the UPS store, in my case, will try to charge you for about $20 for a box. To avoid that charge I had to request an exchange instead of a return. I'm sure that the new paddle will also be defective. Thanks Amazon!

The paddle design and idea is a good one, but the execution didn't quite work.I use this on my kayak and the portability is great, but after just a couple of uses, the tightening and loosening of the paddle doesn't function well anymore. I can still use it in a pinch (which is what i initially bought it for) but the durability is below what I was expecting.

Paddle bent in half when I tested it, only half way in the water. Not worth the money.

Loved the size and weight. A very handy boat hook on the opposite side was a nice option.

The paddle was great to be able to extend but would bend easily when extended and trying to paddle.
