Easy installation, secure fit (on an oval rail). Great foam padding. Comes with 4 ratchet straps, which work very well, and 4 S-hook, pulley tie downs, also 4 carry straps with handles. Bigger kayaks, wider than 2 feet across will require the center upright to be locked in past 90 degrees, which means you cannot put two kayaks on the roof at once. It is perfect for larger kayas, like the Perception Outlaw 11.5. You will hear the wind at any speed over 40 MPH, it whistles through the mount even when not in use and in the locked down position. That is just the way it is, and not a ding against the mount.

This has worked great for two 10ft kayaks I have used it for. The straps are good and the ratchet ropes for securing the front and rear of kayaks are great. Not really easy to install but not too hard either. Love that they fold down. They are sturdy and I would recommend them!

The system works...but the fact it has like 100+ parts to the assembly is annoying. The installation isn't straight forward...and if you have a roof rack on your 4Runner, it can make it a little interesting.Once it is installed...don't take it off lol...because I am not keeping up with those parts and dealing with the install again.

These were perfect for hauling our 2 kayaks. Sleek look when folded down, no issues with lowered gas mileage or whistle. By far my favorite method for transporting. Only modification we had to make was to shorten the bolts so they wouldn't touch the roof. My bars are fairly low and kayaks weigh it down. That combined with back roads was a recipe for disaster, so we trimmed the bolts just in case and no damage.

The total install time was maybe a half hour, from opening the box to the final tightening of the bolts. I used thread-lock on some of the assembly bolts, out of an abundance of caution. I left it on the car most of the summer and there was a little rust on the bolts when I took it off this fall. The foam was still in pretty good shape, just covered in bugs. I used it to haul 2 10' kayaks with the center poles up and a 14' tandem with the center pole down. The kayaks were held securely and I had no problems with them on a highway trip of about an hour. I'd highly recommend these. Much cheaper than the big names but sturdy enough.I also used them to help haul lumber for a backyard project, but that's probably not their intended use...
