The J hooks themselves are beautiful. Plenty big enough, very tough in my hands. All the needed hardware came with it. The only downside is this will not work with Front Runner load bars, which I have installed on my vehicle. There are four nuts on the lower side of the J Hooks that are literally millimeters too close together to fit properly on my Front Runner bars. I tried everything I could think of, I could not get the J hooks to sit flat on them. If this product was a half inch wider, I’d keep it. Since it’s not, and I’m not in the market of modifying products, I have to return them. Beautiful product just the same, I really am disappointed I can’t use them.

These were purchased for under $50 through Amazon Warehouse. They arrived in like new condition. I contacted the manufacturer with a question and received an immediate reply! Super helpful and very customer focused.The racks themselves installed easily on aftermarket oblong shaped racks on 2017 Nissan Murano. They are very high quality, super easy to adjust or fold down and very sturdy. Carried 2 kayaks approximately 400 miles with zero issues. Excellent product!!

Immediately started rusting and left rust stains all over my car. The bolts that they use do not resist rust at all, so when they sat through a short rain shower, they started dumping rusty water all over my vehicle. Small plastic trim pieces kept falling off of the racks as well. There are little plastic standoffs around the bolts and they're brittle and superglued on. Several of them cracked and fell off on parts that I didn't even adjust the bolts for. All around junk. Had it for a week, used it once, returning it.

I was fairly impressed with the quality for the price. Incredibly sturdy. The instructions weren’t great, and actually made it more confusing than it needed to be (inaccurate part photo and more washers and other pieces than were in description). It’s fairly intuitive to assemble. I included pictures with how the hardware should look as you install. Hope it helps someone. Ha. I also spun my foam pads around to hide the logo- just thought it looked better that way.

The product is sturdy and well manufactured. The instructions are clear (with the exceptions noted below). This product offers good value for the price.The package of parts came with 8 plastic washers for each set of rails. However, nowhere in the instructions did it say how these were to be used or installed. It was only by looking at how the unit was built did I figure out where the plastic washer should probably go. Also, the instructions on how to properly use the ratchet straps isn't very clear, and how to use the strap guides on the top center of the rails is not clear.

They work good and I've taken the racks on a few trips with my car. Only thing you should do once you get them is change out all the bolts they came with for stainless steel ones. My guess is the bolts are one of the spots they cheaped out on to keep the price low. With that being said the product itself works just fine for what it's intended for. Along with it is affordable compared to other brands.

I had just bought a kayak off FB Market and had somehow managed to get it home on top of the minivan. My wife reminded me that we had 5 boys who would be wanting to go out, so we needed to get another kayak. My quandary - if it took 30+ minutes to fasten one kayak onto the minivan's roof, we might as well give up if we were going to get another one. Lo and behold! When I searched for a double roof rack, it came up with so many choices, but I opted for AA-Racks 2Pair J-Bar. When it came in, it took me no more than 30 minutes to get both pairs fastened and I was even able to go to the store and buy the second one using my new rack. The only challenge for me was finding the optimum way to fasten the ratchet straps to the racks and here again, the instructions provided were more than adequate. I would strongly recommend this purchase for someone looking to fasten one or two kayaks to your car roof. Now it takes less than 10 minutes to load and fasten or unfasten and unload 2 kayaks - AA-Racks 2Pair J-Bar is a great buy!

These were purchased to carry two kayaks on my Honda CRV. I park in the my garage so I needed a J-bar that was foldable. I did make a slight modification on the bracket to fit my aftermarket brightlines oval crossbars, as they are molded to better fit a round bar. They are very easy to install and hold the kayaks well. This may not be an expensive name brand product, but the quality is at a high standard and makes a solid carrier.
