I appreciate German over-engineering and this thing does not disappoint. Very strong and sturdy with smooth button and locking. The open spool design is nice for wetter climates like mine as it lets the tape dry out quicker after a rainy walk. I can see this leash lasting far longer than all the others I've tried. It does not twist or tangle when you whip it over your head to follow your dog running around in circles. It's on the heavier side, but the handle is very comfortable. It's worth the investment.

Great product. Helped with my 95lb Bernedoodle.Reatracts great, doesn't get twisted in the reel, stops well, has plenty of length.Just take the time to get used it.Good solid product.

I have been hesitant to get this kind of leash in the past. However, I now have a very active young girl who loves to run and play with her friends. This leash has been terrific. It is not one of those cheap products made in China. It is an extremely well made product from Germany. It is easy to use and I can control my dog

Very high quality leash, stout button presses securely, the tape is wider than others, and the extra length over 15 foot leashes makes a big difference for my dog's running radius. A bit more weight as expected, but worth it. And the leash retracts very quickly, nice strong coil spring inside. If I could have changed anything, it would be to have the tape fully enclosed inside the housing as in typical retractable leashes-maybe they did this to save weight? Either way-Highly recommended.

I have a couple Labradoodle puppies that are going through training, in walking AND in play. So I picked this up for them to give me a combination of control with them and freedom should I want to give it. If you've used Flexi, you know how good they are. If not, let me just preface by saying: the locks are great with minimal "accidental" engagements or disengagements, it is intuitive to use, it is well-built and holds up (so long as you keep the doggies from making them chew toys). However, new or old to Flexi, there are a few things you should know about this.....specifically:It's bigger and heavier....noticeably. Not anything that hinders me, but for some it may be an issue.The retraction spring is beefier. While you never really want to let a Flexi leash "just come back"; it's especially crucial here. I could see legitimate injury coming from letting it whip back.The bottom and top of the leash has the storage wheel for the leash exposed. This means the wheel can make contact with skin if you aren't careful and can possibly give you friction burns.None of these have really come into play with me, but I do feel they are worth mentioning as this is a slightly different beast from traditional Flexi leashes. However, in spite of these things, this leash is a remarkable tool of excellent build quality, smooth mechanics, and insightful design. I've used Flexi a long time and I will continue to use them so long as their quality holds. There are a dozen retractable leash brands......Flexi remains the best I've used and the Giant is no exception.

I've had this Flexi leash for months now for my 5-year-old, 40-pound border collie. I've had other retractable leashes, but this is the best by far. The tape is strong yet soft, and does not pose the amputation/injury risk of string retractables. The handle fits well into my palm. The lock button is secure, even when my dog unexpectedly bolts after a chipmunk, and it's easy to set and release. WARNING: Neither this nor any other retractable leash is appropriate for any puppy or dog that is not already leash trained. If you train on a retractable, the dog will learn to respond only to yanks of the leash and not to your verbal commands. Only use a retractable if the dog already can walk at your side without pulling at the leash.

I have a black lab I'm not sure how much she weighs but she's not giant and she's really not tying but she is extremely strong and this leash is great and works wonders. Don't have much to add to that other than she pulls on it hard it's never broken nothing is broken on it now and I've had it for more than 6 months If it did break I would buy another one.

I recently tried out the flexi retractable dog leash with my 45lb standard poodle, and overall, it’s been a positive experience. The leash’s high visibility color is a definite plus, ensuring safety during nighttime strolls or in busy areas.However, there is one notable downside. Occasionally, the leash strap gets twisted during use, which can hinder smooth retraction. This issue means that the leash doesn’t always roll back up as seamlessly as I’d like after extending it. It’s a minor inconvenience but worth noting.Despite this drawback, the flexi retractable leash remains a solid choice, especially for medium-sized dogs like my poodle. Its functionality and added features outweigh the occasional retraction issue. If you’re looking for a versatile leash with added conveniences, this one is worth considering.
